Thanks. Will be interested to hear if you use them.

Things always seem black at the time mate. I'm going through radiotherapy right now and have have various bits cut out. But think positive. Things are rarely as bad as they seem. If I had the cash right now I'd have the car. Sadly I don't.
-
It makes sense Jim. I'm in a similar boat. I was looking to get a few Bodywork issues sorted, exhaust and windscreen. Then you look at the price of this and think may as well just get it and sell the current one. Lack of spare short term cash prevents it though. But if you've got the funds then why not.

Fek me that's cheap. Hope the health issues aren't too serious.
-
Congrats!!!! Mine is due soon (thought it was due May but it seems its in June which gives me time to sort a few things).
-
Car looks fantastic. So you found a lucky new owner? Haha I can't believe you're already thinking of another one.
-
I must say that does look nice.

This is happening at the end of May and isn't too far from you either: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?59944-National-Day-2012-Sunday-20-May-Brooklands There are currently 29 people registered for it and (if the weather is good) then you'll get to park your car on the Brroklands bank :)

Exactly. It's a pain when trying to get parts (the dealer knows me very well now even though the answer is ususally "I'm afraid it's obsolete Sir"). But I love the fact they are so rare now. That's one of the nicer parts. There are a few around here though.

Thanks. It looks better in the pics than in real life :) Ramp not needed for belt and tensioner but definitely useful for the pump and thrmostat housing. You'll need a long M8 bolt to loosen the belt tension. I'm in Claygate, between Esher and Kingston-upon-Thames right by the A3. About 20 mins away from Morden. Glad to see another Corrado move into the area.
-
I just noticed you're in Morden. I used to live there when I was a kid, very near Morden Park, back in 1970 to 1981. I'm back in Surrey again now and just around the corner to you (KT10 post code). I replaced my aux belt a few weeks ago and it was really simple. I've not done the tensioner but I don't think it's a lot more effort; just a few bolts to loosen. There's a guide here (you don't need to take off the wheel lining even though it says you do): http://wiki.the-corrado.net/vr6_belt_tensioner_pulley_repair.html I'm no mechanic (changing the belt is the only mechanical thing I've done on the Corrado). But if you need a hand then give me a shout.

Fair enough. Thanks.

I just asked AMD Surrey how much it was for a Milltek sports cat for the VR6... "I'm sorry sir but Milltek don't do that sports cat any more". Even my aftermarket exhaust is obsolete! Will another manufacturers cat fit?

Garage door closed. Hose in through the window so no-one will see. Job done :D Or buckets of water.

I'll leave this thread here for a while longer in case it changes but unless it does then there doesn't seem a huge amount of interest in the GB.

Mystic Blue Storm - MYLene - CAR NOW SOLD

It's a real shame you're selling after so much work has gone into it. Lovely car. Good luck with the sale. -
I am toying with the idea of retro fitting heated seat pads to my cloth seats. I have got hold of an OEM loom and switch and was testing it out of the car. I want to make sure it works before either going to the trouble of installing it or buying the heated pads. So to test it I have connected what I believe are the live and switched live to a 12v source (black wire and grey/blue wire). The brown is to negative. I then turned it on at the switch and tested the pins in the seat connector with a multimeter. I understand that without the thermistor (which is on the heated pad) I will only get on or off and that the 1 to 5 settings won't change the voltage. So my expected test results were just to SE a voltage of any kind on one of the pins. What I got was a little surprising and I wondered if it was correct or something isn't working quite right... On the seat plug end of the loom the voltage between pins 1 (brown) and 5 (blue/yellow) shows 12v when the switch is turned on (0v when off). But voltage between pins 1 (brown) and 4 (black/red) always remains at 0v. I had thought that black/red would denote live and so had expected it to be 12v. Have I misunderstood or is something wrong with my test? It's great that I can get a voltage on one of the wires but I'm just a little surprised that it wasn't the black/red one. The relays did click when I received voltage. Thanks.

Collected a spare slam panel to start work on. finished the refurb of the drivers inner door handle. Made an adapter cable using oem plugs for my unfitted uprated headlight loom so it plugs into the adapter and then straight into the OEM connectors.

Bought a slam panel from tut_gareth. Collected in person from his house. Thanks.

Paid and collected. Thanks. Closing thread.

Lovely car. Had a mk3 stolen once and was gutted. Is it yours? Hope it can be found.
-
Put on the wiper motor cover and top strut covers. Also started returning the drivers side inner door handle trim... Sanded it back, grey primer, top coats of black vinyl paint. The passenger side came out very well although this one doesn't seem quite as good a finish (yet).

My two for one HD wax arrived today and I grabbed some microfibre cloths while there. Won't get time to wash the car for a week or two but tried it on a small area and the reflections did seem deeper and more defined. Can't wait to try it properly.

Things you hate other people do to your car...

The kids when sitting in the back putting their feet on the back of the front seats. Grrrrrr. -
Looked lovely. I was coming out of Kingston across the bridge and turned left at the roundabout towards Hampton Court. I saw you coming onto the roundabout from Hampton Wick and I assume going up across the bridge in the opposite direction. Unfortunately I was in the Golf so didn't flash or anything. But the wife told me to calm down. So she's sleeping in the spare room tonight :D
