I thought it looked a bit sorry for itself that poor old valver :(

God.. the Cayenne is ghastly, and given the choice between that and a 911 its a no brainer. And why in gods name would you put 21" wheels on it.. I can only imagine it looks bloody stupid. Try and sort out a picture!! :)
-
Sure BANANA MAN would be up for it ;) Ant.. you there??? :)
-
Theres gotta be more of us interested in this. I should definately have a Corrado by the time this happens - I can't it happening for at LEAST another month...? Possibly November time?
-
Must have been some kind of database error.. I removed the first link and it deleted both. Thank god for Internet History files :)

It'd be so sweet to own a Campaign.. but I don't think I would want one living in the area that I do. I'd feel enormous guilt if it got damaged or stolen, simply because they are so rare in the Corrado community.

Well a search for Storm on Autotrader (doing a national search) yields 8 results for me. One on there looks pretty believable : 1995 VOLKSWAGEN CORRADO 2.9 VR6 Storm 3dr Coupe Mystic Blue, FSH, Usual Storm features EW ESR ABS heated leather etc. Totally original, lots of receipts. 12mths mot, 79000 miles, Cat1 alarm/immobiliser and Tracker. Genuine reason for reluctant sale. Theres also one with koni's and uprated alloys.. the blue colour certainly looks like mystic blue and it sounds quite good : 1995 VOLKSWAGEN Corrado VR6 Storm, 1995, M reg. heated leather, Koni adjustables, 17 wheels, new tyres, cat 1 alarm/immobiilser, FSH, many more extras, must be seen Other than that.. not so keen on the rest.

I'll have a quick butchers and see if they look the genuine article...

Well for reliability it has to be the Corrado! But for all round nastiest car (and bear in mind I have only ever owned 3 cars) was my Peugeot 205 Trio. It was superbly reliable, but it was horrible. Loud 1 Litre engine, the softest suspension (body roll to the extreme) known to man, little to no cornering ability even at sensible speeds.. horrible.

I have seen guys driving Seicentos, though usually the Seicento Sporting which is anything BUT sporting. Seen a few decked out with alloy wheels, fat exhaust and racing seats.. but its still only that monstrous 1 litre powerplant in there.. hilarious :)
-
No worries.. vr6storm / Roddy is more the man to answer Storm related questions as he not only owns one, but REALLY knows pretty much everything to do with them. As you say, its frustrating that dealers try and sell these standard VR's off as Storms when they blatantly are not.. still those lucky old so and so's with the 500 Storms can rest easy that they are driving a future classic :)
-
Yep.. all storms are 1995 onwards I believe?? Colour should be either classic green with cream leather, or mystic blue with black leather. If it isn't decked out in that attire, it aint a Storm.

Well I certainly couldn't be accused of looking like a girl. I'd say the smaller engined Saxo's are girlie cars.. the VTR I guess is a girlie car but a lot less than the weenie Saxo's :)
-
Roddy, Its not a question of the performance of it, or driving it to say whether its a girlie car or not - I think we are referring to the styling. It might drive fantastically well (and my 172 owning mate has driven them and says much the same as you) but it's still a car which is definately designed more for girls than it is for guys. Hence girlie car! (I now forsee some Saxo bashing coming)

Looks ace Paul! :) Black VR6, standard speedlines, lowered... mmm, i'd take that car in a second!! :D

Coventry in the West Midlands :) I guess its worth mentioning that I was born in Berlin... Maybe thats why I find German cars so appealing :D
-
Thats just so cool that we have forum stickers all the way across the pond :D :D Thanks Skye :D

Sorry to hear that Chris! It'd only happen to a Corrado owner that both of his well maintained cars are off the road at the same time!! Hope they get sorted soon mate :)
-
Trust me.. if I was looking to buy right now i'd be considering your car Brookescourt. Have seen some pictures and read about the mods on it.. one tasty car :)
-
Ford Ka... Citroen C3 or Citroen Pluriel.. both proper womens cars. Was also amused to hear the Clio 172 Sport called a womans car as a friend of mine drives one. Certainly doesn't drive like a womans car though I gotta say.. goes like shingle off a shiny shovel :)

Where on EARTH can you get SIX wheels refurbed for only £210?? I've got FOUR speedlines in need of attention and I was quoted £280 all in... :( 2CC / Chris got 4 Speedlines refurbed at a place down in Bristol, at the cost of £50 a wheel.. I saw the work, and the wheels looked perfect to me. Hopefully he'll notice this thread and post an advert for the company :)

Looks very nice and clean.. aren't those alloys Oz Polaris? Seem to be a very popular choice on the Corrado.. seen lots around lately and actually think they do suit the car really well. And welcome to the forum! Bear in mind that the majority of this forums users are British, and were still tucked up in bed.. hence the lack of replies :)

I spent around £2000 in my first year of ownership.. and that was just on general stuff, nothing fancy like alloy wheels or stereo gear. Off the top of my head, some of the things : Full Service @ Stealth Racing : £400 (LOADS of stuff done though) New Windscreen : £240 Tappets : £250 New Exhaust Centre Section : £200 New Backbox : £130 3 New Front Tyres (Dunlop) : £210 (Got a huge nail in one.. couldn't be repaired) 2 New Rear Tyres (Goodyear) : £90 (Found Eagle F1's for £45 each!!) -------- That lot works out around £1500, but there was tonnes of other stuff... a new Bosch Silver battery, VW carpets, new HT leads, distributor cap, rotor arm.. so I did quite a lot to it in the space of a year!!
-
Definately. At the end of the day, the Corrado is undoubtably going to turn a few heads or be something to talk about.. another MK4 Golf is just another MK4 Golf. I've never liked the Corrado for speed anyway - there are a lot quicker cars on the road than the Corrado.. for me its just the look, the rareness, and the interest it always generates :)

I think the point is that manufacturers dont WANT us to own their cars for years and years.. they'd rather we were all driving around in brand new shiny cars every single year. They aren't exactly going to promote products which make their cars live way past their normal life expectancy.. I'd say that as soon as the car is out of warranty, they couldn't give a rats ass about how well or how badly it behaves.. the Corrado is a shining example. Despite it being (in our opinion at least) one of the greatest VW's ever, Volkswagen really want nothing to do with the Corrado and the community behind it.. they have to continue to manufacture parts for a car they stopped making 7 or 8 years ago, they have to keep tools & provisions in their workshop to deal with the Corrado, and they need to at least have some mechanics in their workshops who know about some of the common foibles and problems with the Corrado. They would much rather we scrapped the Corrado's and went and bought Golf MK4's or Seat Leons.. and although the Leon Cupra is a great car, I still think the Corrado is the daddy :)
