Well as you say, according to the handbook this is perfectly acceptable oil consumption for the VR6 engine. It is a bit of a monster, and it is known to like its oil as it gets on a bit... If it is concerning you, you could get a VW specialist or dealership to check over the car as I guess its possible for seals or gaskets to have gone somewhere causing excessive oil consumption. I would personally just keep an eye out on it, and see if the oil consumption increases.. if it gets a bit out of control, then get it looked at.

Tried eBay bud? Good place for watches.. though make sure you buy from someone with oodles of feedback so you don't get done :)

Kev, But the sound of an induction kitted VR thumping away on the rolling road (with the bonnet open of course) is something you don't forget in a hurry. I love the way it vibrates through the floor and through your chest... music to your ears :)

Well basically if your engine is in good working order, its pretty unlikely that it will blow up.. hell, I ran my Corrado 16v (was worth it to find out it was running 144BHP!) and I am pretty damn paranoid. And as for jumping off the rollers and into the wall.. well, i've never seen or heard of that happening!! :)

I just read about this on the SSC, and it was a bit of an eye opener. A lad of about 16, who has had cancer for some time has just been told by his doctors that he has about 3 weeks left to live. Can you imagine that? Anyway, the lad is apparently into modified / sports cars but has never really had the chance to see many or go in any.. so the lads cousin posted up on a forum he knew about and has tried to get some support - the result is some kind of car meet / cruisey type thing happening just up the M6 near Broughton. If anyone lives local, and is interested in going to show some support with VW's finest, details can be found here : http://www.cljf.com/xxgcab/forum/index. ... 062d5&f=13

Well i'd have to be honest and say its not totally to my taste.. quite like the new take on the classic Transporter vents though :) But then I have always really liked the C as it was. But as they say, variety is the spice of life... :D But I can't deny its some excellent work, and it looks very well done as well mate. Nice one :)

lol!! Well you were the one trying to get me to 'stick it into 2nd and floor it' at like 50MPH :D :D Not that I am complaining mind ;)

Definately lower Chris, without a doubt.. this is the original non-lowered shot, and this is the lowered one. Also flexed a bit of Photoshop shenanigans and removed the cone, pole, and rope so he had a bit more of a wallpaper of his car :)

Good price.. I believe its quite a sound car as well. I thought it'd be worth a bit more as well! Considering there are now only 5 of them left in the world.
-
I've always been told that its best to go for the most well known / expensive system you can.. don't get the system fitted by cowboys as you'll just end up with a blown engine! Though I guess thats just common sense I spose.

If you are getting around 250/300 miles from a tank of juice (depending on your use of the loud pedal), then its running ok and the MFA is just playing up.

According to John Munyard, it was someone from Elite 1000... but as I know nothing about them, thats about as much as I know! :)

I believe it was a car by Premier (the paint people) as a 'practice run' for their show car for 2004. If thats a practice run, I can't wait to see the finished article! It looked excellent! :)

Well there are two versions of the 16v... by earlier I refer to the 16v's produced from between 1988/9 and 1992, which were 1.8 litre 16v's. Then from 1992 onwards they stopped the 1.8 and started making a 2.0 16v which was also given a slight facelift such as an updated interior and a handful of minor exterior tweaks. I don't know any sites off the top of my head, but if you hunt on Google for some information using keywords like "Corrado Versions" or something like that, I am sure you'll find something :)

Insurance will hurt you pretty bad though might get a little more sensible depending on where you live. Don't even think about getting a G60 or a VR6 - insurance is a no go. Even the 16v is gonna make you bleed.. expect to be paying WELL over £1000.. it'd be an advantage for you to get a cheaper / earlier 16v and insure it TPF&T - then upgrade to fully comp a year or two later as it gets a bit cheaper on the insurance.

Andy, Unfortunately I am only a Moderator - and the only Administrator of the site is currently on holiday! He would be the only person who could reset your password. Have you not found the option on the sign in page that says something like 'Lost Password? or Forgotten Password?' - as long as you used a valid email address when you signed up, you can get the forum to send you a new password to sign in with.

And that Mercedes 3.2 litre V6 is sweet.. a friend of mine has a nice CLK320 which can certainly cover ground at a surprising rate despite the size and weight of it. Though as you said, the suspension on the cars can be entertaining as its designed to be a cruiser, not a racer.. the thing does wallow a bit and the traction control has a fit if you put your foot down going into corners.. so whilst it has the edge on the straights, you'll leave it behind on corners with very little effort.

Sounds great... will deffo be there :D

October sounds good for the Pod Ant :) Always a good day out there if the weather behaves.. I just need to make sure I am in a Corrado by then :)
-
Yeah.. that TT dash looked trick.. saw you having a good look around at it Ant!! :) I'd be keen to see what it looks like once he has got it all back together again and finished. Incredible that he has done that much in a week!

Andy, Here you go bud : http://homepage.ntlworld.com/chicane-uk ... owered.jpg I'm not gonna insert the image directly as I just worked on the original 1600x1200 image. I think, looking at the picture, those springs should set the car down perfect :)
-
Well I am thinkin about it.. but when you told me it cost £60 to fill up... Gulp! :)
-
I hope to actually have my own the next time we meet.. but I guess it'd be rude not to have a quick spin! :) That induction roar was superb :) I'll work on lowering your car this evening Andy and post some pics up.. had a really quick go earlier but had a hard time as the pictures I took are at slightly awkward angles.. doh!

What a great day out! Weather looked a bit ropey at first, but as soon as it got to the afternoon, it was scorching. Great to have met so many of you (see picture later) and great to finally have a chance driving a VR6 - I owe Chris (2CC) a huge thanks for letting me drive his car, and a big thanks for Andy (AndyVR6) taking us out and scaring the locals with the roar from his K&N kitted VR6 - the noise was really something else. Anyway.. I was a bit crappy with the camera and only took a handful of pictures - meant to take pictures of all the forum peoples cars, but only actually ended up snapping 2CC's, AndyVR6's, and Bluslc's cars.. never mind, but heres what I got. Have much higher resolution versions if any of you want em : Left to right in the final picture is.... Jim (me!), 2CC, AndyVR6, Mark16v, Supercharged (proper bo!), BANANA MAN, endor71, and majik. Sorry for those who didn't get in on the pic, or for those of you that never managed to meet up on the day - we were hunting around for people with Corrado Forum stickers but obviously missed you. *edit* I've fixed the last picture.. Chris (2CC) was facing the floor, so I photoshopped his head on the picture we took prior to Majik getting in on the photo where he was actually looking up. Now we have a whole row of smiling Corrado Forum peeps :D Cya!
