  1. Yep.. have considered the G60 but they seem to be holding their values really well at the minute. Great if you own one, but not if you want to buy one at my kind of budget - probably up to a max of about £3000..
  2. I want a VR badly and IF one comes up in my budget then I might consider it.. but I am just a little worried that i'll end up in the same position I was with my last Corrado, with high bills that I cannot afford. The VR is a beautiful machine but I am aware they require a little more attention that the valvers and I don't want to end up with another sob story and a Corrado for sale 6 months down the line.
  3. Yeah... I saw it instantly and double checked for the sprinting guy on the head-rest before I was certain it was a campaign interior! How did you come buy it! They are rare as hens teeth!! :)
  4. Nope not as yet.. got my eye on one at (funnily enough) EMC Performance. Its been there a little while now which is worrying, but it looks and sounds like its really good. Its a 1991 16v, just over 100,000 on the clock with full history and everything.. looks immaculate and is £2,195 - sounds basically exactly what I want. Have to see if its still there when I come to buy...
  5. I did try about a month ago and despite a million bumps on my part, I got no interest at all. They all want brand new cars for a few grand on that place and its really hard to sell a totally unmodded one.. so I think i'll just try the usual channels for now :)
  6. Cars unmodified bud.. told everyone here that before ;)
  7. Step one... just need to sell it now. Its on the website for the next two weeks, and should be in the forthcoming Midlands Autotrader - just gotta hope I get some interest. Though looking at it, this could really screw me up for the CCGB day on the 24th if I do manage to sell it!! I guess we'll have to see.
  8. I take it you are going up in the VR Chris? :) I'll have to look out for you.. going to be what.. the 3rd or 4th time this year? :D
  9. Overlapped.. Actually looks quite good.. initially I wasn't too sure but I think you sold me on that :)
  10. Here is that take on the Audi rings I just knocked up.. not trying to pinch your idea Dubboy, but just trying it out!
  11. Going back to the calipers thing.. I wouldn't exactly say red is tacky. You wouldn't be saying that if you had just bought the Brembo kit for the Ibiza Cupra's which are painted red, eh? :)
  12. If you are looking for real reliability, spend as much as you can with as little mileage as possible. The Corrado engines are good (FSH is highly reccomended) but best not chance it with a 146k'er if you can get one with half of that, when you want good reliability. As Tom says, what kinda budget you looking at?
  13. Nice to see some companies coming by to share the knowledge.. welcome :)
  14. Just improving an already sweeeet Corrado mate... looks superb :)
  15. I think the total full closure was just a later a model / facelift feature - i.e. from 1992 models onwards. My '94 2.0 16v had it so definately not VR specific :)
  16. Should do about 136.. if the car has a few minor mods or tweaks, and a good amount of mileage on it to loosen it up a little, it should just about do that. Just make sure you aint gonna get busted trying to get there :)
  17. Its a nice colour! Looks good man.. look forward to a few more pics if you manage to get em :D What spec is it again?
  18. Nice one :) Welcome to the wonderful (if occasionally frustrating) world of Corrado ownership. Remeber to get some photies up into the members gallery asap :D
  19. Head to my Gold Saxo everyone :D Easy way of finding a good meeting place.. :D
  20. It'd be nice if we can try and arrange some kind of way of getting all the Corrado Forum guys together, as I will definately be there on the 24th. Could do the usual thing and try and meet by my Gold Saxo, as its not as confusing as saying "Well what does Bob or Freds Corrado look like???" :)
  21. Love the sound of the VR6 engine when it gets into its stride... bootiful :)
  22. Andy, You gonna be at the CCGB thing at Woburn Abbey at the end of August? Wanna see this VR of yours!! :) Glad to see you got this waxed finally.. it sucks when even bloody VW can't diagnose the problem. Thank god for the specialists like AmD!!
  23. You will definately need a Cat 1 alarm fitted before you get the car insured... Check your PM as I sent you a bit of stuff in response to the message you sent me! :)
  24. A troublesome MFA is often a sign of a clocked car so check it thoroughly.. the Corrado engines are very sturdy and should be able to munch over well 200,000 miles or more if properly looked after. Tell tale signs of a high mileage car would be heavy wear to the drivers seat bolsters, and very worn rubbers on the pedals.. if its only done 79,000 miles they shouldn't be too bad. Hopefully there will be some past MOT's and a full service history to back up the car.. if its missing those then i'd steer well clear regardless of how much of a good deal it might seem. If your dad is mechanically minded then he should be able to spot some of the biggest problems.. things like headgasket, clutch, etc. The problem with the Corrado is that it always seems to be 'little things' which are invariably expensive things.. just check it over, and hope it has a good comprehensive history. If there is no history, walk away.. whilst the Corrado isn't some insane performance car, it DOES need looking after properly. If neglected it will break in a big way.
