  1. Thanks guys, I can see the Black/Red brake light wires behind the corner lught clusters. But I'd rather take a supply from the actual tailgate. All that I can see in the tailgate is wires for the foglight on the drivers side and the two reverse lights.

Let me know what ye have done over the weekend.. appreciated!

  2. Hi guys,

As the title suggests I'm thinking about fitting a high level brake light to my car. I think that with more and more new cars getting bigger and bigger these days, I don't feel that safe anymore in my little low Corrado surrounded by big white jeeps doing the school run.;-) Actually had a couple of close calls recently.

I have several options on the led side as we use a lot of different types at work. I'm thinking about drilling the upper window trim and pushing through about 15 round LEDs through.

I have looked into getting the brake light supply up to the inner top of the tailgate window trim. I have looked at schematic drawings for the Corrado and see that shows that there is a supply for the high level brake light in the right-hand side cluster. On checking this i can see the supply Black/Red wires coming out from the rhs brake light but can't see where it goes. The schematics are not that detailed and don't state exactly where to find the supply. Ideally it should be in the actual tailgate so as to make it easier to run up to where the light is to go. But I cannot see anything in the actual tailgate. Am I missing something? can anyone tell me?

I can't find anything on the net that explains about the actual wiring up. The only thing I can see is something wrote by Kev (who used to be the main man on here). He said...

You can take a brake electrical feed from the nearside rear light cluster as that's where you would plug in a tow bar loom

If I get the help on this, I'll go ahead and do the job and also do a 'how to' for anyone else thinking about doing this.

    Cheers

  3. Hi guys! My exhaust system is blowing out through the exhaust and the car sounds a bit zippy. I had a look underneath and it seems to be the piece between the cat and back box. I was wondering if anyone has a good second hand one for sale. I would also be interested in a Milltek. Either the pipe on its own or cat back would interest me. I can pay via PayPal and arrange for it to be picked up. Thanks in advance! 👍

  4. I just ordered some of these... They're called WINDSCREEN WIPER LINKAGE MOTOR REPAIR CLIP KIT on eBay. I haven't got them yet but many people say they work to keep the mechanism together.

  5. Hi mate, I'll take

2 Door end bungs £4.00 pair

1 Rear brake equalizer spring £1.00

    1 Tailgate loom rubber @£2.00

10 Body OE aperture seals 40mm*

    £10 for the lot

1 RH Rainwater scuttle cover no clips £5.00

1 Fan blower motor working £5.00

Let me know what you need to post!

Would also like 2nd dibbs on the Powerflow exhaust system, I was actually looking about one of these at the weekend.

    Thanks

    P.S. whats your new project?

  6. Well I eventually got myself a selector tower. Spent a good few hours today taking out the old stuff and fitting the new mk4 and polo stuff. Put back all the heat shields and exhaust etc. Feeling a bit excited at this stage!

Followed the dieselgeek procedure to set the cables and took the car out for a test drive. F*&?ing won't go into the 1st, 3rd and 5th gears properly! F✓®(%r!

I did read somewhere that this could be a problem but others said that theirs worked fine but, guess what? Mine is a problem. It will just about go into gears 1, 3 and 5 but doesn't sink into gear properly.

So looks like I'm going to have to take off the exhaust, heatshields to get to the polo tower box again. Iirc the box can be modified to rectify this issue.

So my question is... Can anyone elaborate on what modifications I need to do to get this sorted?

    Thanks guys in advance!

  7. Yeah that was the post that made my mind up to go for it! He refers to the housing as a shifter tower... I think that is where I got mixed up a bit.

From his pictures of the O2J selector in the Corrado O2A box I can only see the part number of the shift weight.

He also says that the selector shaft receiver on the VR6 should be the correct size to hold the O2J selector shaft. So I'll have to wait and see. Though I'll be trying to get the matching one when I get the O2J one.

  8. Okay thanks for the replies, so there are just two types of tower that were fitted to the O2J boxes and only one of these will fit our O2A box?

Can anyone give me a part number or some characteristic that can help me get the right one?

If anyone has this modification done to their Corrado could they check the part number please!

When I get this sorted I'm going to do a detailed write-up for dummies. Lol

  9. Well I've been trying to get myself a 5speed mk4 selector tower for the past few weeks and it is proving to be the most difficult part of the job so far. Some breakers don't keep cars of that age and those that do have the part don't want to separate the selector from the box!

There's none on eBay so today I thought I'd bite the bullet and call the VW Dealer. I explained to the guy in 'parts' what I'm trying to do but, he can't help me unless I have either an actual part number or the VIN of a car that has the O2J gearbox.

So I was wondering if anyone on here can help? Cheers
