I like that. I’ve just realised that I almost bought your car! I saw the advert and called the Seller to arrange a viewing but was told the car had already been sold…. I even took a screen shot! :D :D :D

I went for a ‘spirited’ drive on Sunday morning, and I could really feel the weight at the front-end, especially in slow 1st & 2nd Gear corners and hairpins and also braking in high speed (and parking as well). I have only had my VR6 for two weeks, so maybe I just need to start going to the gym! :D Has anybody actually weighted their cars? If so, does it come close to the listed kurb weight of 1240kg?

How heavy is the LSD? :)

Gotcha! Cheers!

Hey Chris, Just read the whole thread, must say the dark Speedlines look awesome on your car.... giving me idea on mine! :) And the mileage is so low! Your KW V1, is that the ‘standard KW V1’ ride height? I want to get the KW V1 next year when I can afford them, but you car looks a tad too low for the Sussex roads & speedbumps. If I was to get the KW V1, would it be possible to have it not as low as yours? (Hope the question makes sense as I have no clues!) :D Cheers!

Surely DC2 is more hardcore than VR6 for daily? Unless you want to reduce the increase of mileage for the VR6 hence getting another daily? Edit: Incidentally, DC2 was on my shortlist when I was searching for my next car a few weeks ago. Decided to go with the VR6 because: a- Always wanted a Corrado VR6 since I was 15/16 b- Realised that this could be the last chance to get a good one as the youngest are already 15 yrs old + c- C was a couple thousands pounds cheaper than DC2 Anyway, good luck with your search as I’m sure the DC2 is great to drive!

Thanks for the offer..... TBH I’m only looking for a pair of working Front Brake callipers as I want to get new disc and pads. 4eyes2wheels can have first dibs. :D

Looking to upgrade the front brakes from 280 to 288mm...... called my local VW dealer to enquire about 1998 Golf Mk3 VR6 Front Brake callipers, and been quoted £161.87, EACH! Nevermind eh! :( Second-hand it is then.

I find the VR6 incredibly great as a mile-eater. Engine is effortless for cruising on motorway. The seats and driving positions are more comfortable than my old car, 51-plate 1.2 Corsa. I can see myself taking the VR6 for some European road trips in (hopefully) near future!

+ 1, find the best example within your budget, Storm or not! When I was looking for VR6s, I really wanted one with leather trim and in Dark Burgundy Pearl / Bordeaux Pearl Effect / blackberry, basically dark metallic red or purple. Then I realised original, un-modified, good examples in these specific specs are really hard to come by. I decided just to buy the best example that I could afford. I can always have mine re-sprayed to Bordeaux Pearl when I win the lottery or something. :) Good luck with your search!

So shiny! :D

Hey this is the Fifth Gear car, right? :D

Mate, your paintwork seems to be in much better condition than mine. :) Mine has a bit of stone chips and also a small dent on the front wing. :( As much as I want to get it fixed and have it pristine, I think I'd upgrade my brakes first before sorting the cosmetic. I think the oil temp on mine is ok..... it only gets to 116-118 in sustained high-rev runs, which doesn't happen often. It was serviced prior to my purchase, and I checked the oil yesterday and it's very clean. It drives beautifully and the engine pulls very strongly so no concern yet. The last MOT (March 10) report mentions the shocks have slight leak so I'll get them done at some point in the next 10 months. These Ice Greys are getting a bit too common now. :D :D :D

Donjon's classic green storm. Return from yorkshire...

Very nice! Wish I had a nice car like that when I was 20! :D -
I’ve had the Ice Grey for eight days, and so far I’ve done @650 miles and spent £133.95 on fuel. I don’t even use it for commuting, I walk to work! Looks like it’ll be beans on toast for me until payday while the Ice Grey gets to indulge V-Power. Visited another forum member ‘tandino’ yesterday. He took my car out for a spin and confirmed to me that it’s a very good car and I didn’t buy a lemon! He also fixed the gear-alignment so now no problem with 1st gear selection. I got to take his VR6 out as well... despite being lowered by quite a bit, to my surprise the ride is not harsh at all. I was expecting back-breaking ride when I first saw his car, but it’s actually got a very nice set-up. It’s also got amazing brakes and very gook looking BBS. The brief drive in his car certainly gives me some ideas on what I want to do with my car in terms of upgrade. Cheers tandino, much appreciated! Washed my car this morning and ten minutes after I finished it started raining. Mileage on my first day of ownership: Picking the car up at Seller's place: Car at my office's car park while waiting for resident parking permit. No need to comment on my parking skills please. :)

Hi fellow Ice Greyer! I bought mine only last week! What's your oil temp like? Mine is usually 104-108, which I think is fairly decent. Went as high as 116 during a high-speed run. The wipers are pretty poor :D I'm also gonna change the bulbs to Phillips X-treme (or something) so I can see better in the dark. Apart from that, I haven't done anything to mine.... not even washed it yet. :( Too busy driving! :D

1st ever tank of VPower for my C yesterday. :D

wy906 replied to dtjames's topic in General Car Chat
I’ve never really driven much in Wales; I’d like to visit the ‘EVO triangle’ and other great roads. So if you’re having a Wales meet, let me know! Cheers! -
Can I still get them? Website doesn't work.

Hi Swompy, Just picked up the car, V5 signed... it's officially mine! May I have 2 x stickers please? I can pay via cheque or paypal. Thanks.
