yeh i like it, as an alternative you can get a metal bolt with an integral rubber washer from somewhere in the states, options are silver or black, there's a thread on here about where to get :)
-
very nice 8) my first valver was that colour and still my favorite by a stretch, got the same seats by the sound of it and can't wait to get shut of them too!
-
decrusted and painted rear brake carriers for mating with mk4 callipers and also the nearside beam mount did loads of cleaning of rear beam bits and pieces to see if i could reuse found brake compensator was corroded round the brake lines, will need a new one :( found one of my stud axles had a rough patch where the bearing sits... double wallet pain :( :(
-
dropped the rear beam then had a fight with the allan screw bolts holding the brake compensator, i lost... but my grinder won :D

hehe  you'll definitely get the cheque though, the scam is that international clearing takes 7 days but will *credit* to your account after 3days, he then gets you to pay his transporter 1K which debits immediately, following which he pulls his cheque and your left short. that's the way these scams worked in the past anyway. -
on my last vr i used a 13 row cooler, removed the oem cooler and used a thermostatic plate, on a standard vr i saw temps drop from 118degs to high 90's, that was motorway cruise speed when i lived in devon - i.e. warmer than here  surely the thermostatic plate allows the oil to heat before it activates, from memory i'm not sure both will fit on the spindle in any case.

string him along until you receive death threats, there's a hilarious blog on the web somewhere of a guy who did just that with a nigerian scammer :D -
had two valvers and two vr's so far, and its definitely a step up refinement wise, BUT i really do miss my valvers, definitely from a diagnosis and maintenance perspective. kind of wish i'd waited longer for a decent g60, maybe one for the future :D your welcome to test drive mine, could be a bit far to travel tho

i looked into it when i had chance of getting a mk3 rear beam, i believe it's a straight fit, but i could never get to the bottom of the widening effect it gets you, read 20mm overall, i.e. 10mm each side, but that wasn't definite, there wasn't a front subframe available so I didn't pursue in the end as not really into the dragster look :D
-
its the oil cooler fairly common failure, if it's failing externally, condition internally could also be ropey, i'd get it replaced soon to prevent water getting into oil and vice versa.
-
as an alternative do a search for 'widetrack conversion' or 'mk3 beam/ subframe' a wee bit more involved than spacers tho :)
-
taken car off the road, stripped rear beam completely, calipers, cables, brake lines the lot, will drop the beam after work tomorrow thank god for irwins :notworthy:
-
top man :salute: is there anything people on here cannot answer

yeh domo that's a fair point its a time trade off, they do flash orange as before, maybe i'll get some pics up later mid flash flashing red is really something we can't mess about with over here, as the MOT is government run at special test centres and the inspectors don't mess about, there's none of that 'here's a £20 spot' and a wee wink for the certificate
-
take it, but set off real early or real late, traffic gets bad most weekends in the summer, but particularly bad on RTTS, and i'm paranoid about traffi jams and vr6 temp guages :) man, i really miss devon and cornwall :(
-
there's a wiki guide for this on here if anyone's interested. i did same as others leaving a blank over the reverse light and leaving 9 or so 3mm strips over the horizontal orange lenses, they flash orange with standard bulbs, and look 'all red' from anything more than 2ft away, much better way of keeping wiring/ bulbs standard and not failing MOT for a wee bit of extra effort.
-
fitted rear lights, look great, even flash orange with the thin bands of orange i've left :D
-
congrats man, time becomes precious all of a sudden when there's a wee one about, and you only get scant opportunity to work on the motor, but i'm definitely not for selling :D
-
/\ yep, there's not much that hasn't been covered here.
-
busy day, lacquered rear lights 8)
-
how'd you find these compared to standard items?
-
very dopey of me, the sender i'm thinking of is mounted flat on the bottom left! [back pedal, back pedal] :D
-
rear beam bushes? if so try the wiki, there's a how to in there :salute:
-
i think its a bracket for a sender of some sort, could even be a temp sender? :D
