  1. There was a price update on Monday, so they will have gone up if you got a price last week. Parts price have gone up an average of 20% since 2007. Mainly due to the poor sterling vs euro and increase in oil costs.
  2. ...and people wonder why everything is going obsolete. Sorry but the choice is you buy a set and blag some dealer discount, or you don't buy a set and VW stop producing them due to lack of demand. Just don't moan on here when they're no longer available. £50 each isn't actually that bad anyway. Most other VW and Audi ones are in that range give or take a tenner. And the original ones have lasted me 16 years (longer if they hadn't had laquer sprayed on them!)
  3. Done and purchased :) Anyone had one fitted? Any pictures? :D
  4. A few months back someone found a guy on eBay in Germany who was offering refurbed VR6 steering wheels on an exchange scheme. Typically I cant find this link. Does anyone still have it to hand. Sick to death of my sticky rim :)
  5. Any advice on the cheapest? And what to check before I go?
  6. K plate in burgundy (same colour as Reidy's TDi) in Ipswich Saturday morning, followed around the one way system then pulled into a tyre place near Landseer Road where all the new flats have gone up. Guess he was going to work. Possibly a VR but didn't get a chance to see number of wheel bolts.
  7. You're on late Kev? ;) I WILL own a BMW one day. Just a brand I haven't got around to yet. But i'll never spend more than £6k on a car again. I quite like Bangernomics :)
  8. Redline MT90. If this doesn't fix it then it's time for a rebuild. But it sounds like lazy gearchanges, I sometimes do the same
  9. Well the bottom right (blue) is mine
  10. Your's made 200.1bhp at Stealth mate with a standard filter and cams :)
  11. German and French used cars always seem to command much higher prices anyway.
  12. Someone could make allot of money by making a single point of contact for Corrado parts, basically a Corrado 'breakers' where everything is catalogued by original part number. Of course, you'd need the land/a unit to carefully dismantle them but for the amount ropey ones cost now you'd make a fortune!
  13. The guy that now owns my R32 has done that to the underside of the bonnet. I was ****** livid when I saw it :mad2: But not allot I can do if its not my car anymore :( Still don't understand it all. Theres VW's going around near me with teddy bears cable tied to the rear towing eye now. WTF!
  14. Spotted a very clean 91 G60 (dark grey?) at Wolsey VW on Friday. Looked like it had just been serviced as had a seat cover on it.
  15. "If you win the lottery, the first thing I want you to get me is a face lift and a boob job," said my 39 year old girlfriend as I was checking my ticket. "Well, actually, the first thing I would buy is a reconditioned engine and a respray for my Corrado," I replied. "Why would you waste your money tarting that old thing up, you might as well get yourself a new one," she said. "My point exactly."
  16. Man: "Oh bugger! The heater matrix has gone on the Corrado again! Another £800 I have to spend getting it repaired!" Woman: "Honey, i've got something to tell you....." Suprised the guy didn't have a heart attack when he was told :bonk:
  17. Got very greasy this evening removing the Neuspeed Anti Roll bar. Kev soaked it in so much copper slip its still like new. Took it for a quick spin and I just can't sell it :luvlove: My god does it need some braided hoses though! The Accord Type R brakes are a million times better than the stodgy Corrado ones. My potential replacement for the VR6 and Accord would probably have been a Nissan 350z GT. But I realised I could spend less than £1000 and get the Corrado looking like new again rather than buying another car and going through the heartache of everything going wrong all over again. And having thought about it I would still rather own a C than a 350z :thumbleft: Just had a 'moment' it seems. The Accord will go long before the Corrado does.
  18. Now, this isn't a "Im bored of my car" thread. I still adore my Corrado VR6. But i've found myself using the car less and less every month, mainly as it's in such mint condition I am trying to preserve it. I guess it's just a feeling of guilt really. The car doesn't have the luxury of a garage and I feel like i'm not giving it the home it deserves, it gets the usual wash once a week and polish every fortnight but considering it's only used once a week (45 round trip) I feel it should be in a garage. Another thing is because of the reccession and increase in fuel costs i'm finding it hard to save for a house which I was planning to own by now and I can't afford a house with a garage in north Colchester, so £4k plus from selling the Corrado would help. I've kind of grown attached to the Accord. I like the fact it's in not in the best of nick. So I feel much more laid back parking it, driving it, pretty much everything really. It's probably only got another 2-3 years before it's for the breakers. But it cost me £1000 so it's still bargain motoring while I set myself up for a house I KNOW I would always regret selling my C though. Thats the annoying thing :(

    Tesco Tyres

Probably cheaper. But it depends how many Clubcard Points you get. If you get 4 points per £1 on a £500 set of tyres that's £20 in Clubcard points. Which you can then turn into £60 off Pizza Express Vouchers/Eurotunnel credit etc etc
  20. Is it the one next to the switch you need? If so i've got a brand new one in the garage. £6 posted?
