  1. Green G60 at the Goodwood FOS leaving the car park today at about 6pm. Had aftermarket wheels on. I was in a Red Accord Type R :)
  2. Are you sure it's obselete. Dealers seem to have a habit of saying parts are obselete when there is 1 left or there is zero stock in the UK.
  3. Hope it's Tesco. I need fuel on Thursday :D
  4. "You're trying to add a new ad, or to activate an old one, but this is not permitting from your usergroup's settings. Please contact administrator to ask how you can upgrade, or deactivate, delete, mark as sold another Ad to free up your space." Any ideas? I've only ever posted 1 classified. That was stressful enough but surely it must've expired by now?
  5. Anything worth mentioning? I remember taking it for it's MOT in 2009 and remember the guy saying "F***king hell mate you obviously love your cars" :D Think the only thing he mentioned on that MOT was the Front track control arm bush, this was a week before the front suspension overhaul ;) ---------- Post added at 02:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:15 PM ---------- I do remember the clutch pedal letting you down in Ipswich on the Corrado Karting day :D
  6. I'm got the plastic weld stuff to work on my Center Console and luckily the bits that have broken off :D Out of interest. Can you help me with my radio situation at all? Put an OEM green backlit Gamma in the car as the CD player moved to the Honda. However, I have to put in my radio code every time I start the car (highly annoying!) and also have no green backlighting :( I assume it's just a couple of wires out of place. Do you have a wiring diagram of this area or do you know which colour wires give lighting etc?
  7. Spotted the guy with the green Storm who lives in Ipswich. On the A14 near Sproughton, about 6:25pm, heading eastbound. Supercharged knows who I mean. We met him at Stonor Park on the Show and Shine!
  8. Snotter/Shed. I would consider that a car that cost you less than £1000 as is MOT'd & taxed and nothing majorly wrong :) Looks like we're getting an Alfa GTV V6 traded in for about £800....another one to add to my collection maybe? ;)
  9. Yeah mate ;) It already had pattern cambelt kits two times previously and £98 for a non genuine kit vs. £250 for the genuine Honda bits. When you consider that the cars probably only got 40,000 miles left before it dies it seemed pointless spending the money on it. It's all under guarantee anyway and they seem to suggest they'll sort it if it's there fault. We'll see :)
  10. The 50's are actually obselete? 90mil still available as of April this year.
  11. Can't really, can't get the belt covers off without taking the cam cover off. And they've siliconed a couple of bits up. Don't want to take it off then they blame me for something. I reckon it is a fitting fault though. If it was a faulty tensioner then surely you'd hear it failing way before it did?
  12. As some of you know I purchased an Accord Type R as a daily a few weeks back. Although it had a cambelt last year I didn't have proof of an auto tensioner change so for the sake of £400 I thought I would get it booked in with a local Jap specialist recommended by the local Honda dealer and the internet. This was done on Wednesday and I collected the car at 6pm the same day, fast forward to Thursday...39 miles into and 22 hours into my new cambelt, tensioners and auto tensioner and valve clearance checks etc. Coming back from Colchester in some HEAVY rain after having a set of Continental Contact Sport 5's fitted (3000rpm, 5th gear) and I hear an awful noise for about 2 seconds then car dies. I immediately think water in engine and within a minute i've got the airbox and intake pipe off but they are both bone dry. The fact it didn't 'chug' to death, that there was no white smoke and that it's even attempting to turn over makes me think cambelt and the car is clearly not going anywhere so I phone the AA. He checks in the oil filler cap whilst I turn car over and says the camshafts aren't moving when I turn it over so it's definately cambelt :( I'm not really sure how to approach the situation tomorrow as I supplied the parts (SKF cambelt kit via Euro Car Parts and OEM Auto Tensioner via local Honda dealer). Also got the problem that my car is on my drive and i'm going to have to pay to get it to them Already spoken to ECP who say that if it's caused by there bits that they will cover replacement parts and labour, albeit at reduced rate of £25 PH. If it's the Honda Auto Tensioner I can only find information which suggest they'll only cover there own part (is that even legal? Surely they have to cover any consequential damage?) Luckily, the H22A Honda engine is non interference so there will be no valve damage, but still doesn't mean there won't be any consequential damage of course! Really ****ed off at the moment about the whole situation as my Corrado is now being driven in the mud and rain because of it :( But of course I can't give the garage too hard a time either as theres the small chance it was caused by the parts.
  13. Shamelessly stolen from Pistonheads :) A snotter; A bargain car you leave anywhere, don't love like your Corrado, really cheap and generally costs less than £1000. Extra points for originality ;) My previous; Audi A6 1.8T quattro. Cost me £998.00 (£1000 minus the £2 in change I found under the seat). Written off by an unlicensed driver earlier in the year... Current; An rather 'honest' Honda Accord Type R. Techically doesn't quite qualify as a snotter as cost was £1070, but still worth a mention though as was pretty close ;)
  14. I love the Accord as a daily and because it's not a show queen. Although if i'd poured £3000+ into a mint example i'm not sure I would be saying the same. The steering feel is sublime and I would personally say is better than the Corrado...but as Kev says what isn't better is what you get back from the wheels. And if you think Corrado's are expensive to run then these are in a different league. Some of the prices from Honda are absurd (£100 for a bit of plastic that surrounds the centre rear brake light, £120 each for handbrake cables), service every 9,000 miles, valve clearance checks every 20,000, cambelt/auto tensioner every 50,000 miles.... But meh, Recaros, HID's, Momo steering wheel and four doors for a £1070. I could've done allot worse. This bit really suprised me though; Using the calculator here on 1 full tank brimmed to vapours. Also used Wurth Octane booster on this tank which (so they say...) should take it up to 100RON; http://www.torquecar...-calculator.php Distance covered:- 422 miles Litres of fuel used :- 54.70 litres @ cost per litre 140 (pence) Your fuel consumption ( 35.07 MPG) ( 12.41 Km per litre)( 8.0580 litre per 100Km) Averaging 18.5 pence per mile (40+ mpg for petrol is good under 23 is bad) So 12000 * miles would cost £2,178.00 35.07mpg. Thats bloody brilliant! As for the Corrado. As some of you know it made an appearance at Stonor Park last week and will be making another appearance at Stonham Barns in Suffolk on Sunday :)
  15. So that's about 67% untaxed or scrapped
  16. Right, well as some of you already know the Corrado now has a partner. An rather 'honest' Honda Accord Type R. Bought mainly to take the miles off my mint Corrado VR6 and save it from our harsh winters, but also because all of my mates are Honda boys and they finally bullied me into getting one. This is the only Honda i'd ever considering owning and is my first non-german car :) The ATR is sooo much fun to drive and so damn practical! The recaro bucket seats are something else too! Certainly wouldn't win any show and shine awards, but only paid £1070 last week and spent £300 on getting the rad and a few other bits like the OSR door handle replaced. So still owes me less than £1400 So basically, I own two of the highest rated front wheel drive cars ever Just need an Integra Type R and i'll complete the set ;)
  17. Welcome to the forum :) Look forward to seeing how you get on.
  18. 30 grand? You could buy 30 Honda Accord Type R's for that! :D
