  1. I'm LOVING this car :) The Corrado's steering felt soggy in comparison, although I haven't fitted the new suspension yet to be fair. As a driving experience everything is spot on. The car itself, especially the interior, feels like Honda only designed it to last for 80,000 miles. I suppose it's that Japanese mentality, that a car is only good for 6 years. Hence why so many of there Used cars end up here!! Despite that, it's a hoot to drive and the fact the car is shabby means you love it but not the in the perfectionist way you'd love a Corrado. It's a great daily :)
  2. It's rated up there with the Corrado VR6 and Integra Type R as the top 3 best handling front wheel drive cars of all time ;) "The Honda Accord Type-R (ATR) was produced from 1998-2003 using the CH1 Accord chassis and sold in UK/EU markets, the JDM Accord Euro-R uses the CL1 chassis. Using a naturally aspirated 2.2 litre 4-cylinder DOHC H22A VTEC motor which produces 220 bhp (220ps)and the EDM was (212ps) @ 7,200 rpm and 164 lb·ft (222 N·m) @ 6,700 rpm. The Type-R Accord model is differentiated by a number of sporting features including, but not limited too, stiffer suspension, limited-slip-differential, twin-piston brakes, dual exhaust system, Recaro seats and a leather trimmed Momo steering wheel."
  3. Seeing as I'd 'finished' the Corrado and the paint job immenent. I've gotten seriously bored with not being able to tinker with anything...so I've just bought another front wheel drive legend to sit alongside the Corrado. The Honda Accord Type R. I purposely bought one which wasn't perfect as I wanted to bring one back to it's former glory, this one had unfortunately been walked over by a student but has a nigh-on full service history and a good 80% of the dents you could make invisible with dent devils and £250 cash-in-hand. The sound of the VTEC is amazing, and the Limited Slip Diff awesome! Total price...£1070 ;)
  4. Number 16 bolts to the metal extension where the exhaust is currently hanging. There should be two threads in that bit of metal to take the bracket. http://www.wagenstad.com/index.php?modid=112&page=2-76-00
  5. Yup, but that's obviously a non geniune system/ The T4 bracket might be better in your case as it makes the exhaust sit much closer to the car.
  6. Looks nothing like what it should do? The OEM part has the 1H0253147B bush attached to a custom bracket. I've got a brand new one in my garage, will try and get a picture for you.
  7. Would you be interested in trimming the centre dashboard console that houses the air vents, heater controls and radio?

Have you tried the dealers? I think a new one is only about £200?
  9. Due to loosing two years no claims bonus by an uninsured driver I am struggling to find insurance under for under £1000. Even via Admiral! Any ideas on companies that give you the benefit of the doubt when you're hit by an uninsured driver? I now only have 1 years NCB. Wouldn't mind if I was doing 15000 miles a year but only doing 8000 and i'm 25 years old, so hardly a young driver!!
  10. They'll be the Chineese Jetta ones. The Corrado dash quality was hardly amazing anyway so I doubt these we be any worse, They should in theory be cast from the same moulds that made ours.
  11. Small world. I drive through Boxford every day to get to work. Are you Groton/Lavenham way then?
  12. Good news, my VR6 has been occasionally stalling (3rd gear at 25mph when changing up etc). The car already has a new MAF so I guess the throttle body just needs a good going over with some carb cleaner.
  13. I've got two Instrument cluster caps for the left hand side, obselete like everything else on the Corrado. Anyone got a right hand side that want to do a swapover on?
  14. Couldn't understand it, I usually park my car in the corner well out of view of the road. There is a big building of offices about 300 yards away (Felaw Maltings) so guessing someone saw it from high up and decided to venture out on a lunch break. I do need to renew my CCGB membership so I may as well use the leaflet to do it :D
  15. I had a bit of a drama last weekend and decided I wanted to sell, then I remembered how I felt when I saw Jim driving away in my original VR6 :( Mine is currently a daily but it will be going off the road from November to March ever year. This winter it will also be having the underseal stripped and checked for any rust, rear windows out and both sides painting and the front bumper painting. This is going to cost me about £1100 cash in hand at a VAG Approved bodyshop if my old Man can't do it (he's ill atm). But bollocks to it, in for a penny, in for a pound. I've already restored every other aspect of the car I may as well keep the paint tip-top. At least the bigger price gap between average and good will make it less hassle for people looking for one, I would pay £5000+ all-day-long for Corrado VR6's like Kips, Judtihs, C5OEM etc etc. Anything below £3000 I wouldn't give the time of day anymore. Theres very little in the price bracket that has this much road presence and the only thing that would get more positive comments from the public would be a Ferrari or Veyron :) lol. The amount of people that say 'nice car' to me at the Sainsbury's or Tesco's car park is rediculous. Makes me glad I'm still not driving an A3 repmobile.
  16. Someone put a CCGB leaflet on my car at IP City in Ipswich today. Anyone? (I asked Supercharged if he was on a wind up and he said no )
  17. and most of the VR's for sale at the moment are dog ****e. I'd say only 2 in every 10 VR6 Corrado's are in condition that won't require you to spend £1000+ on them as soon as you get one.
  18. DIY Re-dyed the leather seats. I was a little concerned they would come out rubbish but they came out amazing! :D
  19. LOL, what i'll probably do is offer her £300 if she puts 6 months tax on it. That way I can drive it away with an MOT booking. 6 months tax = £110. So a Corrado for £190 ;)
  20. Last week I was at a friends BBQ and he has literally just moved into his first house and this was the first time I had ever been there. Imagine my suprise when the house two doors down has a rather tatty looking white 16v on a H plate (with G60 BBS wheels) parked in the corner under a tree. The car to be honest is in a real state with rust patches in a few random places but nothing that it would fail an MOT on and it appears solid. I jokingly asked if it was for sale and another next door neighbour said they were looking to sell. I have now been given her number to contact her. The car definitely has no tax but i'm not sure if it has an MOT but was told it was being used up until a couple of months ago. To be honest I think they may be looking to just get it off their drive but I could either use it as a daily whilst the VR6 gets some paintwork done, paint it matt-black with rattle cans and turn it into a track car or break it for parts. Not much of it would be any good to me as it's all pre-facelift though. I reckon the shell has got at least another two years life left before it's completely rotten. Anyone reckon it's worth a punt? If even to save it going straight to a scrappy? What do you think I should offer? £300?
  21. If only L'Oreal made an Anti-ageing cream for Corrado's I would love mine allot more.
  22. Ha! I wish! :( You don't get 30% off anything that's unique to a Corrado :(
  23. Are you sure it's not the release bearing squeaking? Try pressing your foot on the clutch slightly while it's running. I think when the clutch was done with the chains StoneyG60c used a non genuine clutch and bearing (the non genuine bearings are always short on grease and cause a squeak) Edit: Oops I just noticed Kev suggested the same thing :D
