  1. I think I just made a mess :?
  2. Your car isn't running a Cat though is it Rob?
  3. http://www.jbsautodesigns.co.uk/product ... -attack-na
  4. http://www.r32oc.com/jbs-auto-designs/2 ... er+economy I know theres some VR6 bods here (haywire, Vince etc) and was just wanting to know if these kinds of gains are possible from what they are stating?
  5. Spotted a non OEM ( R32 blue?) Corrado at Ivy Lodge Hotel in Chelmsford today where there was a Tatoo Convention apparentely being held. The Police were going along issuing tickets as people were parking on the verge. Hope you didn't get ticketed!
  6. Cleaned the Corrado today; used 1001 on a few bits of the interior and found why I've had a knocking noise from the back for the last year. One of the foam bits that goes around the wheel had come unstuck from the floor. I always worried it was a mechanical problem. All sorted now :)
  7. I did  at those two comments admittedly. I've got my tenners worth from it to be fair. I've had 3 magazines so far and always interesting to read but I would prefer more up to date content over the "glossy brochure" thats sent out, I understand that anything new is usually thin on the ground though. Unfortunately because of my age the insurance discounts make no difference to me anyway :(
  8. New S3 is years away! But it will make the Golf R seem cheap when it does come out though :cuckoo:
  9. The S3 is far from better equipped but there are better deals to be had on them as it's a run out model. I'd still rather have the Golf R though. The S3 looks like every other S-line A3 on the road.
  10. Have you booked my test drive in it yet? 8)
  11. Sob, I'm welling up....  Whtat am I going to do with my evenings now? You'll have to bring the R around for some jobs instead :D The Corrado needs one last job as the drivers check rod is snapped! The R32 already has a job waiting when it goes back on the road
  12. The ferry I booked this week was £167 return, scarey money but seems quite reasonable when you consider it's twice as long as Dover-Calais. McDonalds has improved in recent years but for burgers you still can't beat a XL Bacon Double Cheeseburgers with lashings of Heinz Ketchup :salute:
  13. Yes, it's true :( I will be moving into a house in December so the Corrado needs to go for a deposit. To say I'm hearbroken is the understatement of the century especially with the amount of work that's gone into the car over the last year. It's basically been a mechanical restoration! I'm glad that Jim is getting hold of it as I know he will continue the good work. All it needs is someone to spend £700-£900 on some paintwork and you really have a car that will match kips. I have the last week of this month off work to spend my final week with the car, get some photos, clean her and enjoy the last few miles  I know having an R32 softens the blow but the Corrado still offers something the Golf doesn't which I still can't quite put my finger on. Maybe it's the spoiler, the awesome handling, the feel good factor or the fact that nearly everyone who walks past it has an opinion or positive comment about it. But it's a car I will remember fondly. I'll probably do a writeup on it when it's gone, but I'm already missing it and it hasn't even gone yet, lol.

    RR Day

Mine made 200.1bhp with Schimmel cams and 162,000 miles and 95RON. Was well chuffed with that
  15. Nice edition. Suprised there was no coverage of the Rolling Road day at Stealth. Or will that be the next issue? :)
  16. The new 1.8T is a beautiful engine wih decent fuel economy. Diesel isn't always the obvious choice anymore!
  17. I've just had the dreaded insurance renewal for the R32 come in today. Money isn't the issue here but I'm considering SORN'ing the R32 for a month as the Corrado is taxed and insured and I also need to take some miles off the R32. My question is, does anyone know whether you have to have road tax as part of an Insurance Policy? I can't see anything obvious on my Admiral Policy that says I should? R32 is less than 3 years old so has an MOT and is also 200 yards off the road on a Private drive.
  18. Spotted jaded2882 at Ockenham Common on Wednesday. I think his heater matrix must have gone though as all the windows were steamed up.
  19. Disagree with you there Steve. Kev showed me the benefits of Hammerite waxoil before this shocking weather started and I'm so glad my Corrado has been protected by it all winter. Cavity Wax and Waxoil essentially do the same thing (i.e. stop rust) but there applications are much different. It goes without saying that any broken underseal should be rust proofed underneath and re-applied. But the Wax Oil adds another additional barrier, made my C look mint underneath and also a little quieter which was nice  It's also strangely erotic applying it  I've also used the VAG Preservation Wax cans which Kev mentioned that are great at getting into those little nooks and crannys like the holes in the chassis.
  20. I think it may be for the best if I pull out of the league. The situation at work has changed over the last couple of weeks which means I have less free time to dedicate to stuff like this :( Money is money at the end of the day! Is anyone willing to take my place?
  21. Kev looked at the car yesterday and confirmed the flaps were all over the shop. Just need to wait until summer now. No way I'm touching brittle obselete trims in freezing temperatures
