  1. I might just point out thats not my R32. I've only just ordered them ;)
  2. Only a grand as well, bargain :norty: http://www.volkswagenracing.co.uk/Golf% ... Tyres.html
  3. Same here :) Had the sunroof open for what felt like the first time in ages.
  4. Leaving to go Chelmsford at around 7pm. I'll meet you say 6:30pm for 5 laps? :)
  5. That's the Buggati Circuit we're doing this week right? I'm getting 1:57 and that;s all over the place.
  6. Out of interest, what times are people getting on the Le Mans circuit?
  7. I can't believe how crap the standard heating is, I get quicker results blowing the windscreen with my breath than I do with the air vents. I guess the main problem is the MK2 Golf Blower motor. Is there ANYTHING I can do to improve this? Later Passat Blower motor maybe?
  8. Corrado is great in snow; aside from an Iced Over road this morning it's done me proud these last 4 weeks
  9. See, and everyone thinks I'm mad for buying a towbar for the C  (Although it's not fitted just yet, respray is still on hold until the shit weather passes and I can get it to the Garage!)
  10. Same old story really; there will be an even bigger gap between dogs and decent/mint ones. I forsee this year the crap/breakworthy ones settling around £1500 with the decent ones getting nearer £3000-£6000. You gets what ye pays for.
  11. Never knew that :D I've got a set in the garage. How much do you think I'd get on eBay if I sold them as 'genuine Mclaren F1 Door Mirrors'?
  12. How comes theres loads of Corrado owners in Ipswich but I never see them
  13. :D 2ltr 8v Corrado for economy, swop the humped rear bench for a flat one, fit another seat belt, drop it on BBS LM's...job done Exactly, my daily driver is a VR6 Corrado...lol! The Golf stays in the drive.
  14. I always forget how high the standard cars are  Slam it 60mil and leave it, I've always loved those wheels :)
  15. The cheapest a Dealer could buy one from VW UK for was £17900, around 25% off list, But this was for a base spec stock car which ultimately never existed and was merely a teaser; most were prepped with Nav, Leather and bucket seats which meant that Dealers paid about £20000-£22000 for an average car. The good news is that they sold so fast everyone wanted them again as soon as they were gone. So an 08 plate car went from a value of £16k in January 09 to a current value of around £20k now
  16. They sold the last 600 off with nearly £2500 off. So makes sense the Police would snap up the last ones and they are the perfect Q Car.
  17. Out of interest. Has anyone ever painted there rear spoiler a different colour? Black/Grey etc? If so, any pictures :)
  18. The roads were damp as it had rained the previous evening, this caused stones etc to was on and settle on a fairly sharp bend. That, meant the car just went straight into the corner, down the enbankment and skimmed the tree at the same time  I was basically driving how anyone else would consider as 'normal', without remembering that every road is different everytime you drive it :nono:
  19. I know this is thread is going to sound like me teaching people how to suck eggs, but trust me I've been unfortunate enough to know what it's like to be stupid. This is what the consequences are of not being aware and not doing something as simple as loosing a few MPH off your speed when the roads or conditions aren't perfect... I'm in a reflective mood today hence this post but tomorrow it will be 3 years to the day that I had a rather serious accident in which I hit/skimmed an Oak Tree at around 50mph. I seriously think that had I been a foot closer to the tree or not been in the Audi I would've been allot more seriously injured or worse not here today. As it was I spent two nights in hospital (Christmas eve & Christmas Day 2006) being strapped to spinal boards and going through brain scans etc. At the time I was too concussed to really care what was going on but I now feel physically sick when I think of what I put my Parents (especially my Mum) through. I don't remember much about the accident at all, all I remember is driving down the road, glancing at my speedo and the next thing I know I was being strapped to a spinal board by Paramedics. Whats worse is I had my best friend in the passenger seat who thankfully walked away from it. We're still good friends but he's clearly not comfortable when I drive nowadays  Luckily many of the injuries were temporary; I walked away with concussion, cuts, bruises, nosebleeds, whiplash, numbness in my left hand & arm and I couldn't turn my head fully to the left for about 12 months. I also found it difficult to stand for the first 3 weeks as I would loose balance and fall over and in the end I was off work for nearly a month. The only permanent injury was a slightly (barely noticable) drooping left eyelid but it's just a constant reminder of my stupidity and driving too fast for the conditions. ...and if you thought all that was bad...it was then 3 months of grief with the Nazi Insurance Company :censored: So, this is just a post really to say that these things do happen; they aren't just stories you read about in the news and just think of your family and friends when you do decide to push your car :salute: At the end of the day I was lucky because of what I was driving, I hate to think what the Corrado would've held up like So basically... ...Be Safe!!
  20. Oddly, my Corrado recommends a minimum of 97RON. It's quite painful paying nearly £90 to fill her up nowadays :(
  21. It's the recommended fuel by Volkswagen in the handbook and petrol cap. Unless it's remapped, an R32 running on 95RON will put out exactly the same power as car on 99RON. I ran my R32 on 95RON for a year before I switched to 99RON after the REVO remap, theres just no point blowing money on expensive fuel if they don't recommend it for the car. I get anything up to 28mpg out of mine but 26.5mpg is the norm, It's only so bad because I have a really 'sharp' remap though.
