Not getting rid of the 'rado... Well OK I have!
Pat_McCrotch replied to Alexander's topic in General Car Chat
Fuel costs aren't as bad as you'd think. You can easily get 30mpg+ out of a non-remapped R32. And you only need to run it on 95RON :D The only problem with R32's is that they are like Corrado's. They get under your skin and it becomes another obession  -

But they are as old as a Raddo! Got to be MKIV Golf R32 surely? ;) Or if you fancy something epix, Jaguar XK? A decent one goes for nearer £6500 but allot of car for the money! -
I used to love this car when I was a kid, how amazing it would be to actually own it :luvlove: http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/news/defau ... ryId=21234

Most things on Edition 38 make me gag nowadays to be fair.

Didn't he leave the forums and posts somewhere else? Without ever giving a very plausable excuse either if I remember correctly? :|

The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...
Pat_McCrotch replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
My car hasn't had a steering wheel for 4 days now. The metal bit that knocks of the indicators off has snapped off the boss so I'm waiting to get some liquid metal to weld a new bit on :( -

I think that when tuning a car far too many people get hooked up on outright speed rather than handling and launch. Even a car that has 5.5 for speed will very rarely be on a track that gets to top speed. I think the Corrado I'm racing in the other league has as little as 4.9 but the handling is at 5.6 which is where it needs to be Best tips are uprated tyres, the lightest wheels you can find (you can compare weights just as you are about to buy them), the lowest suspension and basically a big spoiler on the back  -

Surely not your G60 Steve..? I thought that car passed into mythology in 2005? -
Tried to fit my Nephews in my Corrado last week, not possible I'm afraid. Spent 15 minutes trying to get it to fit in the front and back :brickwall:

Well, I thought it might be good as an impact damper (seriously!) and it was only £30 delivered. If someone hits me from behind at least it won't write the car off straight away ;) I'm still not 100% sure what to do with it though. It only weighs about 15kg's and will also tighten up the rear end (oh err missus!) I was meant to be painting it this week but because of other commitments it's ended up not happening :( Still hoping I can get a couple of days in before I get back to work! -

Necessary replacement is different Jim; I've spent nearly £1500 on the mechanicals of my car to date but Kev (and occasionally me ;) ) have replaced everything that I felt it needed e.g. Track Control Arms and Ball Joints which had all covered 160k miles. ABS sensors that have failed every 10 seconds etc. If anything Toad has worked on his car with the same mindset I have as he's still running the original wheels (I'm even painting my wheels black/grey now rather than replacing) Hell, I've even sourced an original towbar to go on after the respray  I meant more people who have a perfectly 'healthy' car with rust spots/rusty arches and they decide to blow £800 + on coilovers or wheels, replacing parts which will hold for many thousands of miles to come but leaving the rest of the car to deteriorate further. But as stormchargedvr6 says, each to there own. There are still plenty of Corrados to go around and there will always be a plentiful supply of original, tastefully modded and god awful ones. -

I'm not really bothered whether people decide to change there car substantially or not; the biggest thing that angers me though is the owners that will place a set of wheels or uprated Anti Roll bars above rotting sills/arches or poor paintwork :nono: -
My God, how did you find this thread after 5 years buried  In hindsight, after having read the thread I was perhaps a little harsh on the TT  but you need to remember it was different times then. The common problems which I moaned about 5 years ago have now all been sorted with modified/improved parts and the 3.2 DSG was an amazing improvement over the 225, although to be fair it does have our favourite VR6 in ;) So, as long as they've had the common issues already addressed such as the ARB's and the Dash Cluster they actually respresent a good Used Buy in 2009 ;) Although we'll have to disagree about the S3 vs TT 225. The lack of weight on the TT's rear end can make it a difficult car to control on the limit, as many people on the Nurburgring will testify :|

Holy mother of god, and I wasn't even willing to pay £400 for a new VR6 wheel...! -
My car history is a bit messy, bear in mind I've only been driving since late 2002 :cuckoo: 2002-2003 2002 Polo 1.2 S (55bhp  ) 1991 Polo GT 2004/2005 2004 Polo 1.4FSi Sport (I still miss this :( ) 2005 SEAT Ibiza Cupra TDi remapped to 202bhp, my god that was fast! But had even more faults that my Corrado! 2005/2006 2005 Audi A4 S-line 2.0TDi. Brilliant car, 25000 trouble free miles until I drove it into a tree and spent 2 days in hospital  1981 Audi Coupe. Quickly bought and sold as was more rotten than I thought  2007 2007 Audi A3 S-line 2.0TDi. Bought from Insurance payout. Again, great car. But always wanted something not diesel and more daft... Current Cars 2008 VW Golf R32 1995 Corrado VR6 :salute:

Arghh, I despair with this ****king xbox360, I really do :mad2: Knocked table my xbox360 sits on and it's damaged the Forza disc rendering it unplayable. I won't be getting another disc until Christmas (asked my Parents to buy me another one  ). I've tried the toothpaste fix but no joy :( -
I've thought long and hard, and have decided on my New Year's resolution. 1024×768.
