  1. I didn't fancy tackling mine for warranty reasons. I stripped the old VR6 syncro box down to get the bell housing and transfer box, but I just didn't dare to tacklet £2500's wort of new bits and risk getting it worng. Good to see you're getting stuck in and doing it properly (pre loading the bearing etc), nice work.
  2. O.....M.....F.....G.......THIS IS AWESOME!! I finally got my copy, and did nothing for a week but blat around the nurburgring. I can't be arsed with the whole career thing, it takes too long for my liking, I'll save that for rainy days. I just cannot get enough of belting around corners at 160mph, it feels utterly mint, and I love the way you feel like your hanging on for dear life when going flat out, much more realistic. without a shadow of a doubt, the most awesome computer simulation ever. how they are ever going to better this I do not know.
  3. All forge do is weld in a double ended threaded bar and 2 nuts intot he middle of the rear suspension tie bars (one with a LH thread, one with a RH thread) so it actls like a turnbuckle and can be adjusted in length. not possible on the syncro axle as it has a totally different setup. However, I have dreaming up a rather spiffing idea of an eccentric washer, which I shall be putting into production soon to help with syncro rear axle camber issues.
  4. why didn't you use the whole mk4 bulkhead? then you could have used the mk4 pedal boz and brake servo too.

    vw sat nav

bin the ashtray, fit climatronic where that used to be, bingo, double DIN space! I've got another DIN slot in mine, BELOW the ashtray.
  6. I'm still waiting for my copy. I pre-ordered it months ago online, but my credit card has since been calncelled so the payment bounced, they just never bothered to tell me until today............... had to have a blat on GT3 last night, and even that felt good, can't wait for GT4 arriving sometime this week.
  7. got to find a way of getting this little lot in there now!
  8. will be going to inters on the saturday I think. I was hoping to have it done for elsecar, but my paint man has said he can't do the bumpers for 2 weeks :-( Oil cooler is aal done, some pics of that coming soon. just modified the fuel tank to take the bigger SX pump.
  9. better, MUCH better. I've just got my fuel system and oil cooler fittings, so when I get that plumbed in I'll be able to run it again, and this time I will actually do a sound clip.
  10. Buy your poweflex bushes through me. I'll do them 10% cheaper than anyone else.
  11. It's an R32 lump. I just don't like to call it that as I don't particularly like mk4 golfs.
  12. Downpipe is now finished, pics coming tomorrow. Been working on mounting up a 19 row mocal oil cooler in the front bumper. will have the downpipe all bolted up tomorrow and should have the prop mount sorted too.
  13. I'll take a good guess that i'll be all done for ELSECAR and lee will be walking away with another trophy for best corrado, and possibly best in show too.
  14. do they actually whistle like a real turbo?

    Blinging!!!!

don't bother lacquering it. polished alloy isn't THAT hard to keep on top of. and the beuty of leaving it bare alloy is that the more you clean and polish it the better it gets.
  16. I've had columns with worn pins, which makes the column a bit slack, but I've never seen one go completely.
  17. ah! got my C's and F's mixed up again!
  18. a stunning collection of immaculate vw's, well done.
  19. not sure, but when I ran the early passat manifold on mine I tried it with the sensor unplugged and also with it tied to the outside of the manifold and I never noticed it running much different with either situation.
  20. there's all sorts or ceramic coatings that can be fitted, and phenolic spacers to stop the heat soak fromthe head heating up the manifold. If you're THAT concerned abou it then fit the plastci rocker cover of a late golf VR6, disconnect the collant lines on the throttle body and join them together, and fit a breather filter on the rocker cover. and a cold air intake too. IIRC the ECU uses a default value of 60C if the inlet manifold temp sensor fails. oh, and has been pointed out, you can only run a short runner inlet manfild if it's a forced induction application, normally aspirated motors need long inlet tracts.
  21. white G60, J plate, booting it over the ouse bridge on monday morning. distinctive G60 whine, I knew what it was well before it passed.
  22. I like it. I mean, I'd like to crash or burn it.......
