My 4wd is proper vr6 syncro stuff. it'll handle 300bhp no problem. as for handling, should be fantastic! I never wieghed the engine, but it should be a tiny bit lighter than the vr with the plastic inlet manifold. not enough to affect the handling though. Right, i'm off int h garage to make an exhaust for it. as it stands the R32 downpipes are just too close to the steering rack boot, they actually touvh it, I can't have that. Hopefully on the road by the end of january. just in time to test out the 4wd in the snow :)

I think those splits would have cost me more than the corrado itself did!
-
I'd still like to know whay you cut all the rear seat area out too?
-
It is now though!!!!  :D :D :D just had it fired up!! I'd like to say it went on the first turn of the key, but actually it didn't, it just p1ssed fuel all over the floor becasue I'd forgotten I'd taken the fuel filter off! so connected that up, and after about 10 senconds of cranking it barked into life. F8ck me it's mint, it sounds like a NASCAR!!! (no exhaust on it yet) Possibly a sound clip coming tomorrow if I can get Coxy to host it for me. Needless to say, I'm absolutely over the moon and I'm going to have a very very happy xmas now.

MY old rear seat was on of the later flat ones, , but my new trim (which I haven't collected fully) has the centre arm rest what does the hinge bolt to? just the centre console? of is there a bracket welded to the shell for it?

So.....how many 8v owners on here? ((echo))
PhatVR6 replied to Pat_McCrotch's topic in General Car Chat
I would have thought so. My mate got cracking results off a 2.0 8v with a piper cam in it. apparenlty the cam specs were very mild due to the cat and emmission bollocks. not sure how true that is though. -

Mine WAS an 8v. I loved it it put out 137BHP at dubsport. nice torquey motor. needs a decent cam in it though to liven up the top end. People who portray them as bad probably haven't driven one. I know I'd much rather have a 2.0 8v over any 1.8 16v that's for sure. -
Happy with my H&R's Try Motorsport Wheels, they are the UK distributors for H&R http://www.hundr.de

bwahahahahaha, that'll wind em up Does that mean it's actually worth what yo paid for it now then  -
Had a busy weekend. All the wiring is now complete. I was going to fire it up, but I'd taken the throttle body off to fit some better captive nuts (off a spare 24v manifold I had). dropped one of them and I don't know where it's gone so I can't refit the TB just yet, bummer. Got the brakcet for the DBW accelerator pedal made up and welded to the pedal box. Fits a treat and works well, shame I didn't account for the room needed for the wiring coming out of the fuseboard, so I'll have to redrill the fuseboard bracket to move it forwards about 10mm. got a mk5 polo gear shifter to put in it now too. Should have it running before xmas!! :D

Corrado Forum Car of the Year - Bodywork
PhatVR6 replied to Shilakadaddy's topic in General Car Chat
So don't my flared arches, smoothed sills, delocked colour coded passat handles, smoothed bumpers, reiger grill and colour coded and de-locked number plate surround, all red crystals not count then? :( Might still be on steel wheels but the bodywork is still nice. -
Come on, you can't let Henny win, his car is slower than mine was with my old 12v engine! :-P
-
Steve, sell 'em, some bell end will give you £200 for those on ebay.
-
Strange. when I bought It I was told there were only 5 left in the country, and by the time I got that one it was the last, and because there were only 5 the price had dropped from £260 to about £80. yeah, you can't buy the cross member, you have to cut that out of a syncro. it's going to be running a vr6 syncro rear axle and diff. I'm using the 02m and the haldex in my mk2.

Loving the Azev As, but never seen them on a corrado? borbet A's, mint wheels, but they don't fit on the front of a corrado too well. TH lines?!? ming. Modernlines? now you're talking, absolute classics. BBS RM's, cheap tat, the poor mans BBS splits. as for RAs!?!?! please..... RC's class, love it. 17" RS's, not ken on the wheels, but there's no denying they suit the corrado RH's are overrated and getting too common. anyone got WRD mesh rims on a C? TT competitions look sweet, but only on dark cars. polished wheels just look wrong on light cars.

Note the freshly painted VR6 front panel (cheers big pants) and the reiger grille in it's new shade of textured satin black (I didn't like it all colour coded) headlight and rad is missing so I could see where to mount the oil cooler. once I've got that sussed it's front end off time again and another look at those blasted coolant hoses.
-
what, even with wires still all over the place, no rad and the air filter just resting ont he battery!? cheers

I'm thinking of putting mine back to standard. :-P  :-P  :-P  :-P
