    KR cam upgrade

Hello Right it's looking like I'll be getting some KR cams pretty soon as it'd be good to get some more power out of the old girl... What I don't know is... where to start! What kind of increase in performance should I expect? I gather there are 2 different types of KR cam... are these high and low? Which is the one to go for? I'm of very basic mechanical knowlege  , so would like some idea of whats involved? And lastly is there anything else I should think of doing at the same time? I plan to drill the airbox and give it a cold air feed at the same time which will help a bit I think... I know a lot of 2L owners have done this so any feed back would be great... Cheers chaps Phil
  3. My MK1 golf lost all it's splines on the wiper motor and I just tightened the bolt as much as possible and that did the trick also meant that slight adjustment on parked wiper position was really easy... dunno if that would work on a C? my MK1 struggled to do 100 let alone 145
  4. When I asked back in September last year VW mats were still available but apparently are cr4p quality and at £50 you're better off buying some good quality after market C branded ones... joebrent, are these tailored to be the right shape for the C or is it one size fits all?
  5. As for block paving - um, sorry
  6. It says perl grau met on the sticker on the inner wing - take it means Pearl Grey in english... Yeah I love the colour too, was the exact colour I wanted, so was well chuffed when it came up in the trader :D
  7. Thanks Bally, could well have been me, we all headed off to Bicester to go for a drink... Have you seen the link to the Golf VR forum http://www.vr6golf.co.uk/forum_viewtopic.php?2.5891  We got noticed
  8. The paint is probably her best feature, and I've not had a chance to wax it yet this winter  Lowering is probably first on the list (except getting the right bumper on the front  ) then for a set of 16"'s, KR cams, magnex, and induction kit - neeeed to sort a better stereo too. As with all modding missions though, ITS NEVER FINISHED! My MK1 Golf still had a long "to do list" when I sold her
  9. Some of you will have seen her out and about by now but I just thought I'd put a couple of pics up on here... this is just the begining of a long long modding road!
  10. Nice one - some really nice shots there :D
  11. Either way, yours will always look better 8)
  12.   Bl**dy fu**ing ba**ard corrado drivers at a guess mate
  13. Cheers Jim  Dan, sounds like our C's were separated at birth - mine REALLY pi$$es me off too! And to top it off, pulled out of my drive sunday morning to head up to the AGM and hit my neighbour - mine's not too bad but I think I'll be giving him my new stereo money to pay for his damage

    CCGB AGM

I would like to come up to say hi to everyone but don't think I can afford to put it on the rollers - would only find out how underpowered it is anyway  Do they tune your engine while it's on the rollers (it could do with that)? might temp me to mug a granny if they do... 8)
  15. I would have thought that they'd have some sort of guarantee on it and if you can proove it was fitted they way they say it should be then they should replace it for you... worth asking them - Good luck :)

    CCGB AGM

Good to meet you Amit - and thanks to Dom for the socket :D Should get my Forum stickers on wednesday if Andy makes it for N/R- which may help next time Jim

    CCGB AGM

Hello.. yup I'm the slack one  Thanks for your help - was it your socket I borrowed? Need to get that sorted before I thrash her again... Nice to meet you BTW

    CCGB AGM

Just wanted to say how much fun I've had to day with the whole AGM thang, was really nice to meet everyone and the drive to the pub afterward was really blo*dy funny  And yes I've eventualy joined - got my stickers and everything  Really looking forward to the coming year with the club and seeing everyone again... Phil
  19. Yup - I need to spend a lot on my C!
  20. Blo*dy great, I love the way these valvers sound... until I own a VR I would say they sound as good - just different... Always makes me smile when you plant your foot and people crossing the road way ahead scatter on hearing the roar

    alloys

    shocks and springs IMO :)
  22. I think the general view is that if a car came with them fitted as standard from the maunfacturer then it must have them for the MOT, this means anything from D reg onwards as that was when the law changed. It's the same rule for rear seatbelts... HTH - only really repeating all above  Phil
  23. nogrille, have been down a few times since but the C has only been twice  Will be selling the 15's eventualy but TBH they've really grown on me and I'll probably be sorting suspension out before doing the rims - should be saving to re-insure her at the end of the summer really  So the no grill look is here to stay then? See you on the 10th :D randal_24, take a chance with the No_rice night mate - there's a thread in the Events section about a load of us meeting at the Parkway so we can get a bit of a C corner started - I've never had any trouble there as it really is just another friendly dubbers night - don't mistake it for a cruise... Route sounds like a good 'n, maybe we should hook up for a beer and have a look at a map and then I can sort out some copies for everyone and get it sorted? was also thinking of giving the Swan a call to pre-warn (just incase this takes over their whole car park  ) I'll PM ya with ma number...
