 I'll just have a dig around in my spare change

OK lets call it the 14th for arguments sake, was thinking we could meet reletively early say 12ish and go for a C group thrash  ending back at the pub for lunch 8) Will need to sort a route out but there's loads of good fast roads round there (obviously we wouldn't exceed the speed limits  ) could be a bit more of a laugh rather than just sitting around talking about driving C's (which we'll still do over lunch) Let me know what you think... Might actually start a new thread for this as it's getting a bit off topic... Will duplicate this post and start in the Events section, seeing as it's coming together now :D

Hmmm it's going to be pretty difficult to tell unless you can block the fuel lines and leave the electrics on for a while to see if the guage is working - they usually take a while to raise up to the full amount - how much fuel is in there? How easy was it to change the LCD display colours and what film did you use? Do the needles have to come off the clocks and the little flat head screws have to be removed to get the faces off?
-
So is the wifes MR2 faster than your C - not sure I could live with that  Both look very clean and I love those rims on your C BTW

Cool, so far we're looking at a Sunday in March in Ashvale - now for a date... the choice is 7th, 14th, 21st or 28th If we can sort a date in the next couple of days I'll start a "Surrey and Hampshire meet" thread in the Events section...

Right then after spending too long trawling through various sites I think I'll settle for the Pioneer unit which I've found for a reasonable £228.99 from letsbuycaraudio.com Thank you for that link Ka` they were the cheepest for this unit and fairly competitive on the other two. Having heard all the feedback on the Sony units I definately wouldn't go for one - it's a shame that a company that is renound for quality hardwear can get it so wrong when it comes to car stereos. They seem to be all about looks rather than quality and the fact that you can't remove the face panel on the cdxm1000tf bothers me, even if it has a security code it wouldn't stay in the car longer than five minutes and you'd be looking for a new window  Anyways thanks for all your help - will let you know how it sounds once I've got it in... Phil

Anywhere that has lots of parking, fit bar maids and a free beer would be ideal... OK we may not get the free beer bit (unless we find a very nice fit bar maid  ) Don't know ashvale that well but next to a river sounds good... Would be good to sort a sunday lunch meet for next month (March) just need a date to suit everyone...

Pews is down the side street just down from the The Three Tuns (used to be Mash Tun) There's no parking there so prob not best for a C meet... There's a lot of good places to go for a meet, the Mill sounds like a good idea - whats the problem with The Bat and Ball?
-
I think sound quality is the main issue here and I'm prepared to sacrifice bling in favour of quality... So basically I should be losing sleep over the pioneer options...? I really like the DEHP77MP so will be happy to go for it... Kev if you're reading - do you have this and if so, how do you rate it? Thanks for everyones help so far... Phil
-
Have heard a lot of negative comments on the sound quality you get with Sony... I used to have a Sony MD head unit and was alwasy really pleased with it until I put a Kenwood CD in and WOW how much better did that sound!!!! Probably got something to do with CD V MD in the quality dept but has made me think twice about going for another sony...
-
Thanks Jim, they all have what I want and OMG how much over priced are Halfords!!!! I wanna stay in and drool over the possibilities of head units now  However I can hear a pint calling... Greegs, will have to check that after the pub... Cheers though, sounds like a good place to start... These are the ones that are in the running at the moment if anyone wants to pass judgement?
-
8) I also remeber reading that power and feed should run down the car away from each other?
-
Hello chaps Am thinking of upgrading my headunit to a MP3 player... have been looking at quite a sexy Pioneer unit - don't know the model number but it's a nice classic looking unit with two round nobs each side and a single line text display.in the middle.. or was thinking of the Sony one with the large TFT screen (again don't know a part number) these are priced at around £400 and £500 respectivley. I'd be impessed if anyone knows what the hell I'm on about but if you do and have any opinions of these units I'd be pleased to hear them... Oh yeah, and if anyone has any good "lower than Halfords price" shops or sites that'd be great. Thanks for your help Phil
-
hmmmm, this is making me more and more tempted... might have to get one in the week. As for running the cables, it's just power and feed from the head unit?
-
Sound like a plan... any suggestions?
-
Have just started using Optimax and OMG what a difference, feels much more keen off the mark... Welcome BTW :D
-
Those of you with the Basslink do you have the rest of your system running from the head unit or are you using amps?
-
I read both but prefer the features in the Golf they seem a bit more true to the dub scene.... Mind you now that Elliot is the Ed PVW might get a bit better, quite an inspired letter from him at the front of this months mag and it was good to see them at lat months No-Rice.... still no mention of the Corrado Forum in PVW's forum guide this month though  I wonder if too many people have slated them too often in here?
-
or just keep washing yur windscreen, that usualy gets em to back off when they get fed up of having to wash theirs too  My MK1 only had a single bulb as did the C, Put a second fog light in mine when I changed the clusters... I suppose that if you want to retain the OE look then a german N/S cluster would give you the reflector for the fog...
-
Ahhh, so the black plastic surround is part of the fogs then is it? does the indicator clip into the surround? sorry for stoopid questions but I want to change from the early items to the late ones (which I should have being a '94) Cheers Phil
-
And then my brain started working - if your golf is a no grilled golf then we've spoken at no-rice and I tried to get up to a London meet to catch up with you guys... got there too late and everyone had gone home - something to do with guns and lairy locals :? Yeah, I've moved back to Guildford... see you at N/R :D
-
I do know a Phil in Aldersh1t he drinks down at The Funky End... It's my mate Dave thats looking to buy - used to share a flat with him just above manor park...
-
I had to get a full set of four for my BBS rims costing me £80ish from VW - This was about September last year. I wonder if they over charged you? :?
-
Nice one Andi and cheers for your help ollyb :D
-
Couldn't get a picture - only sound... any ideas chaps? Maybe I need some kind of update for media player?
