  1. Called - payed - chuffed - should have em friday... thanks a lot Simon for sorting this out and getting me on the list at short notice. If anyone gets theirs tomorrow then it'd be great to see some pics of them on...
  2. Have a Sigma on mine and it operates the S/R and the E/W... this is because full closure is built in to the locking (turn and hold the key) if you don't have full closure for some reason then you can get a closure module but like they said this may only do the windows... the sunroof closure operation might also be another of the differences between the early and late type C's... Have had the battery disconected recently on mine and now the windows don't fully close when arming the system but this just means the unit needs re-programing... On my system you only need press the button once and it'll do the S/R and E/W if they're open - pressing and holding triggers the panic alarm (useful if I ever become a woman and nearly get attacked late at night when I return to an empty car park  )... Hope this helps...
  3. The problems started with oil p1ss1ng out from where the oil filter joins the oil cooler... to start with I thought it may just have been a poor fitting filter so changed it and cleaned up the mess in my car park - started it and let it run for 10 minutes with no probs. Went back a few days later started it and it dumped its oil again just after starting it.... anyway to keep it short it went in to the garage, they changed the oil cooler and then it dumped its oil on them, so they changed the pump too - no more pressure problems (well not losing any oil at least!) I then had it back for a week and drove it problem free and then had to send it in for an MOT - it failed on emmisions - was told that the metering head was leaking so needed a new one. I wasn't that keen to buy a new one for £400 so got one from a scrappy for £50, it then failed its re-test again on emmisions and this time they said it needed a new cat - £150 later and it's passed! I get it back to find it's still f**ked. In 7 months of ownership I've been able to drive it for 3 months and that's the story up to here.... This car is only on 75K with a full service history and is very tidy - just goes to show that you can't even trust the basic princibles when buying used cars....

Cheers Gavin.. I had the oil pump relaced just before christmas so am somewhat p1ssed with these pressure problems.. replaced both pressure switches yesterday in hope that it would be a simple fix but NO my C is out to get me!!! The chap at G & S was telling me that if the pumps just been done it may be that it wasn't tightened up enough or even with the correct amount of torque they have been known to come lose... so it's heading back to the garage in the week to get sorted (I hope)
  5. Thinking about it - it seems like I've got 2 options, take it to VW and have them plug in diagnostics to look for problems - would it show pressure problems? or my other option is to take it back to the garage that did the oil pump and cooler and get them to sort it... trouble with these guys is they had my car for bloody ages last time and I'm reluctant to let them near it again after all the problems I've had so far... What do you guys think?
  6. Um - probably a dumb suggestion - but would it be the fuse for the spoiler? Otherwise I've heard somewhere on here that if you've changed the stereo then there's a wire for the auto volume control (used by the original unit) if this has been conected to the new one it can cause the spoiler to stop working although I have a feeling that this only stops the auto function and the spoiler can still be opperated from the switch.. Sorry if this is no help - but it's a start
  7. Well I've put new sensors on it and it's made no difference aaaggghhh!!! The problems only start once the engine is up to temperature... as the revs drop down past 3K the light and buzzer come on they then stay on untill the revs reach 3 / 3.5K and then go off... I assume from what I'm told this will be the low pressure sensor. This is really p1ss1ng me off as it's now going to be out of action for another week untill I can get someone to have a look at it... one thing I noticed when I was changing the sensors was that the yellow wire that goes to the low pressure sensor has 2 wires - one goes on the sensor and the other is folded back with a white clip on it and doesn't connect to anything - could this have anything to do with it? Not knowing the 16V engine and not having done any of the previous work myself I don't know if this was ever connected in the first place?
  8. Gutted for you :( - always a bit of a laugh trying to figure out what'll break next with these cars - haven't driven mine for 3 months
  9. Fair enough.. any press is good press I guess and it's bloody good to get the forum and those assosiated with it in a mag!
  10. Mines a '94 L reg on lowish miles 75K with FSH bought end of september last year. Since I've had it I've needed: new oil cooler, oil pump, sparks, HT leads and it's been off the road with on going oil pressure problems for about 3 months... Oh and I found hidden damage to the cross member and realised after I had bought it that it should have a late bumper not the early one currently gracing the front end... I dont regret buying a C it's just a shame that I can't enjoy it!
  11. Hmmm... this raises politics issues! If you submit any images make sure it’s clear they are for use in this feature and this feature only otherwise they will have the rights to use 'em for anything. I agree with Campaign - for an enthusiast mag maybe their presence should be felt on days like this rather than just blagging a club for their own hard work!!!
  12. Is it just me or are the lenses on the fogs clear? Look sweet if they are 8)

Am very tempted, need to see what my oil pressure problems are being caused by over the weekend before I decide as I might have to spend all my available cash on repairs rather than mods :( If I do fit cmas etc will it put a lot more strain on the engine and is it a good idea if it's on 75,000 with five owners in its history (probably been thrashed by at least 4 of em!) although it does have a FSH so I suppose that's in it's favour
  14. So if they're euro light's why don't we see em round here? And does that mean they're not legal to use in the US?
  15. Cheers for sticking me on the list Simon, this is a very good price and I'd have been gutted to miss it Will be giving them a call on monday to pay for my set..
  16. Does that make you feel special  Duffer still having probs sorting pics - mind you Shane K's link shows you whats needed
  17. Thanks a lot guys - will be looking at this on saturday so will let you know how I get on... Phil

very interested mate, price is important... is this a job I can do myself? Should I tie in anyother mods to the engine at the same time?
  19. Erm, no I'm having enough problems trying to keep it on the road. On the Mk1 it was coming in through the doors as there was no plastic liner... easily sorted with some plastic sheet and duc tape. Am planning to strip the sunroof and check drain holes on the C soon as I have it back and running...
  20. Got the C bak from the garage last night with new metering head, new cat, new MOT and new problem... Took it out for a quick spin to discover that the oil light / buzzer intermitantly comes on and stays on until you give the engine a bit of a rev with the clutch down... Before the metering head and cat were done the garage had previously fitted a new oil pump and cooler as I was having high oil pressure problems (which are now sorted - they say / I hope) Does anyone have any ideas? I'm hoping it isn't pressure problems and might just be faulty sensors which I plan to replace at the weekend - does anyone know where I'll find these in the engine and what part numbers they are? Cheers Chaps
