  1. Looks good and like stock - nice one :D
  2. I had a mk1 for about six years and I'd say it was probably one of the best cars I've ever driven... complete go-kart handling, basic - so no heated mirrors, central locking, electric mirrors etc. to stop working. What a car :D I sold it to a friend so still see it around. The Corrado provides much more of a 'hang on for dear life' experience and I cant help but drive as though I'm late for an accident but ultimately I still need a mk1 to sit along side it on my drive as a bit of a weekend toy... 8)
  3. Both look sweet.. any plans to mod?
  4. Maybe I should pull it apart, just worried about breaking it. If it aint broke etc

    noisy fuel pump

My old Mk2 and the C both had a fuel pump just in front of the off side rear wheel. The pump on the Mk2 went but was fairly simple to sort and managed to get one from the scrappy for 20 quid! Haven't had any probs with the one on the C (its abot the only thing that hasn't had a prob) but had to replace the fuel filter - which involves removal of the pump... not a hard job took about half an hour. If it sounds noisy it should be easy to locate the faulty one?
  6. Think she drives a Ford hmmm. Will have to ask her to help me fit it.. just need to move the controls to the back seats 8)

    Reiger Grille

Looks sweet with the use of some imagination tho  !
  8. Sweet... you'd of thouht they'd have realised that when making them the illumination was sh1te! Oh well, looks like I'll have to go down to halfords and chat the fit girl that works there up again! It's a hard life
  9. Cool.. now to find a way of affording them!
  10. Hello all Have noticed that the illumination of the heater controls seems to come from center dial and the two outer ones rely (badly) on this center bulb. To be fair I haven't pulled it apart to have a closer look and am assuming that it is a single bulb system as I have noticed the same problem in two other C's. So, is this the case or do I need two more bulbs to get illuminated fully? Cheers Phil
  11. Very nice mate... look forward to seeing it with the rims on...
  12. Any ideas if they're illuminated? Think I'm going to get me some gauges....
  13. Happy christmas bud... see you at the next no-rice :D
  14. So you like vee dubs then? :D
  15. Not good as far as the car goes ... glad to hear everyone was ok
  16. James_m if you've got a set and are putting them on I'd really like to see some pics if poss? It might just send me over the edge and make me rob a bank to get em though!
  17. Is this a VR only item? I'd like to put these in my hole, ahem.. in the dash!
  18. I think there might be a moral to this story

    My 16v

I cut some pictures out of an old pvw and stuck em on the screen but don't think it works very well  The proper pictures of the right car would be better!
  20. james_m I want these rims as well - 16V calipers are smaller so should fit... I'd go for the 7.5" rims as being a deeper dish tend to look better in the arches. It does worry me that upgrading the brakes later on could be a problem though...?
  21. Just waiting till Feb and then'll be joining :D
  22. Loving that machine lots - good colour, right wheels... new standards being set there I think 8)

    MOT

Mines waiting at the garage for me to supply parts needed to pass... not really what I was expecting as it's only on 70000 with a FVWSH! :(
  24. With you on that one buddy - just found out that the air flow meter needed to pass my MOT will set me back about 400 quid  And so far I've totalled about a grand on sorting other essential bits out! Having said that it's still cheeper than running my old Mk1 Golf and makes me smile way more :D
  25. That's a long way from surrey isn't it :(
