Hello Gti-Jamo, just to keep you updated I've still not heard back from Benji-27 yet, I'll give it another 2 to 3 weeks max, and after that I'll offer the last new small wiper linkage to you Gti-Jamo as promised. Many thanks Si -
Hello Chris thanks for all your hard work those badges look really good. Just one quick question Chris are you able to do the small 16v badge as well, that attaches to back of Corrado just under the script badge so to speak. I'm interested in purchasing a Corrado script badge & the small rear 16v badge as mentioned above, both in the brushed alloy affect, as in your second photo. Many thanks. Si
-
Yes as above I'm fairly sure the flat one is from a Corrado. The Corrado badge is roughly 70mm in diameter where as the other one if it's from a MK2 Golf will be 75mm I think. Si
-
Right hello guys sorry for late update been really busy today. So yes I've had a reply back from Sprinter53 this is a copy of his message below. ******************** "Hi. 75€ + shipping to UK. MfG Chris" ******************** So looks like he's got some not sure how many though. Si

In that case then it could possibly be your slave cylinder as Swift has mentioned. Si

Other then that possibly your clutch unit is warn out, sometimes the release bearing can puncture through slightly the clutch assembly, causing a low pedal which normally stays low to floor, this is a classic characteristic with cars that have a clutch cable, but sometimes you can get it on hydraulic systems also. If your clutch pressure plate is warn down too or close to the rivits, this normally will cause the clutch bite to be very high on clutch pedal, basically this means you won't get full clutch bite until the pedal is vitally at the top position. Plus I've heard of a few guys on here who've had issues with there clutch arms cracking / bending causing poor clutch operation. With your car parked on your drive / in road, try putting your car into 4th or 5th gear, with engine runing with your handbrake on, now lift your foot off clutch pedal slowly, your engine should stall straight away, if not and your engine is still runing with the clutch pedal up, then this is a clear sign your clutch is warn out. Hope this helps. Si

Can you feel full hydraulic pressure when de-pressing clutch pedal, you should feel some resistance pressure so to speak. Also does your clutch pedal return fully to the top position. If not then try bleeding your hydraulic clutch from your slave cylinder, plus check for any wetness around clutch master cylinder in engine bay, and inside car as they can leak causing loss of pressure in system, also check your slave cylinder for leaks. Or you see no leaks from master or slave cylinders, which could mean one or both of them have warn out internal seals.

Good shout right I've just sent a PM to Sprinter53 Si

Hope you get it sorted. Si

You could also double check the bolt hole size in the splitter & front bumper, using your vernier caliper as they can measure internally as well. This way it'll 100% confirm if the bolt holes are 9mm or 10mm in diameter. Si
-
You could use 6mm or 8mm diameter bolts, that are say 40mm long, but the only problem you'll have is that the original bolts have that 9mm wide shoulder which fits nice & snug when going through the splitter & front bumper, the splitter might be slightly loose if you don't obtain that shoulder around base / centre of bolts. I suppose you might get away with it if you used, erm say 8mm bolts and sleeved neck washers, these washers would spread the pressure when tightened up, and the sleeve neck part of washer would fit into the 9mm / 10mm bolt holes in splitter & front bumper, similar to original bolts. The other thing is to re-drill the holes, in the splitter retaining plate to 9mm same as the splitter & front bumper holes, but be careful if you re-drill them to 10mm as the 10mm bolts may not fit through bumper holes, I don't know for sure. And then weld the correct size nut on the back of the retaining plate. I'd say 40mm should be more then enough for the replacement bolt length. Si

Oh wicked cool, thanks, so looks like someone over in the states bought one from Sprinter53 back in March this year, hopefully he might have some left or possibly another batch made ?

Head of bolt =10mm hex head Bolt length 35mm From bolt hex head to tip of bolt thread. Bolt shoulder dia = 9mm Bolt thread dia = 6mm Yeah this is what I got also. Bolt thread pitch = 1.75mm Si
-
The thread is measured to obtain the bolt diameter i.e if it's 6mm 8mm and so on, also you can measure the thread pitch, which basically tells you if the thread is 1.25mm or 1.50mm or 1.75mm, I might have my front splitter bolts to hand, as my Corrado is in bits as I'm still doing loads to it, give me 10 minutes and I can probably tell you what the bolt diameter and thread pitch are, I've got a feeling the pitch is 1.25mm but I'll check. What about 3D printing and all the options with that, just a thought. I also looked into this about 2 years ago, most people/companies can chrome plate item's but seam to struggle when it comes to plastic items. I was told most metal item's are dipped when applying zinc, galv, chrome plating, but with plastic it's a different process involving static electric charging or something, where they have to attach a thin layer of metal or copper and send a small charge of current through this, to make the chrome or what ever plating stay attached to the plastic item :( Si

Hello mate, once you're on the Classic Parts site, you can enter the part number, in the search menu at the top of the home page, or you can pick from the listed VW model's in the far left column, again on the home page. Once you've found the item you're after, click / tap on it to open up the info page, so for example if you typed in part number 00-535807181 "Front splitter retaining plate. Secures front splitter to Base of front bumper" = €40.95 Once it opens up you should see the part number in big bold numbers, then below it there's normally a picture/photo or diagram of the part, and the price in euro's is underneath, well that's what it's like using a mobile smart phone. If using your computer it'll open up to reveal the item in photo / diagram form, again with the price in euro's below it, but then you have to click on the photo / diagram again to see the info page on the item. Here you will be able to see the product details including price again, and weather they have stock or not. Also you can see what model's of car the part you clicked on will fit. Also you can click on additional info which normally shows / conforms the part number, what years of model the part will fit, and measurements of the item if it's a bolt on part. Plus you can click on (find related products via drawing) which basically allows you to find/see most or all the part numbers related to the item you've been looking at. Hope this helps Si

Sounds like either the threads are gone on the shoulder retaining bolts, or in the retaining plate. You could try new longer bolts with nuts on the ends, if the threads are gone in the retaining plate. Or you could weld new nuts with the same thread to the back of the retaining plate, so then you'll be able to bolt it back up. The retaining bolts are or were available at VW Heritage, and the retaining plate I've seen is available at VW Classic Parts. Hope this helps Si

There was a guy who had a manufacturing company who managed to make a few sets of the later looking Corrado fog lenses, they were made out of a fairly tough plastic, but they looked really OEM he was selling them on Ebay about 18 months ago, I managed to get a set just before they sold out. If I can remember or can find any paperwork I'll post up on this thread the company details. I think they were about £100 for the two lenses, and they came from abroad somewhere I recall. Si
