Ok took my throttlebody off today to drill out the idle screw that had been snapped off in it :2gunfire: I ported it myself when i fitted the engine but never took pics. Notice ive fitted a small butterfly from 16v as they dont have the crappy restrictive wedge. Heres the pics of it i took today Also fitted a piper 285 cam (many thanks billinjah!!)

Ok found the prob! think someone had sheared the idle screw off! Il drilled it out and refitted 1 i had lying around of a 16v and jobs a goodun! Reason tickover was so low,is i had loose connection on isv  all sorted now, heres the pic

when my lambda is plugged in,if i floor it,it just makes lots of noise and doesnt really accelerate hard,so done as daz told me and taped switch shut which makes ecu ignore lambda, anbd then it flys!!!!!!!1
-
i have cat bypass aswell, lambda is before this by down pipe join. Try what i have done, discoonect lambda, then remove the full throttleswitch from throttlebody, then tape it so the switch is pressed all the time, then try it. Mines like this and it runs fine and goes like stink
-
plugs and leads? with my lambda disconnected, mine bogs and pops up through the intake
-
check the purple wire from lambda plug with it still plugged in. With a multi meter you should get readings around 0.79 volts and these should fluctuate when revved. This means the lambda is ok
-
Lambda is wired ok,getting voltage on purple wire at ecu ranging from 0.30 upto 0.80 on idle so the lambda is working. If i unplug lambda, car runs even worse, ive resorted back to the taped switch as the car flys with this done  Darren suggested i try another ecu, but where would i find one on the Isle of Wight? :help: :norty:

you can swop the blue and black temp switches around on the plugs to test they are working ok. Is it down on power?

............as i go to rummage through my mk2 bits

But people get away with using windscreen washer pumps  I understand about the hydrolocking but it would take a hell of a lot of water to do that? Its not as powerfull as a "proper" 1 but is there a way i can measure it?
-
Ive decided to ditch my intercooler sprayer and use the bits for water injection. The pump im using is really powerfull and blow the joins off on washer jet hose  I have a boost activated switch,so all i need is a weld in bung and a nozzle. Can someone give me an idea of what size jet il need? Hoping to be running over 200bhp with current spec so need the jet to suit Any ideas?

ooops  best get the throttlebody off tommorrow and try and get 1 to fit then.
-
I dont have an idle screw!!!!!!!!!!!! it has a brass plug in there with no slot or cross head etc
-
get a remap then
-
pretty sure it 3.2 or 3.5
-
Yeah digipants. The 2.0 8v has a very badly designed head so its going to be hard to get good results with standard head
-
Ive just fitted a piper 285 cam (thanks billinjah!) but now my idle is lumpy as and it struggles to idle. Is there a way of increasing the tickover? I had a look to where the tickover screw would be on a normal throttlebody, but mine seems to have a brass plug in it? iow corrado g60s car has same cam and his idles loverly? Im 99% sure i have all timing marks spot on and the rotor is pointing to mark on dizzy. The exhaust note is alot louder on tickover now aswell? What do you reckon?

They are the same as golf

If you need any spares i have near on everything!

When i used to have the reiger boost spoiler, my mate said it looked like id driven through halfords with a magnet on my car! Went out for a meal with mrs last night and a chap came up to me and said "do you own the red Corolla? as youve left your lights on?!" -
Yeah of ebay as Giant intercooler for drag use! I had to have the end caps modded, then used a samco right angle reducer to come from charger to ic
