Ive just finished sticking a g60 lump in my 16v but am unsure what the process is with telling the dvla. Has anyone gone down this route? Can anyone advise me where to start? Do i need an engineers report?

As ive just stuck a g60 lump in my 89 valver,i though id just aswell fit the dash clocks aswell. Mine had the single lcd clocks with speedo cable. I noticed the twin lcd g60 clocks dont use a speedo cable,so i used the loom for them and the correct plug on gearbox but had a plug left over :roll: . Problem i have is,i got 2 wires round the wrong way on the fuse box and heard a pop. Ive checked the dash clocks,and dont have any lights working on it,nor the rev counter :cry: The digital milometer and clock display works but nothing else. Do you think this is because of my mistake with wires or is there something i havent plugged in? Is there anything that would blow on the clocks that can be fixed or checked? What part is the milometer stored on,as if i bought another set of clocks,id like the right milage on them Any help greatly appreciated

Need to know the same! I have now got hold of some mk3 gti hubs,to go 5 stud but also have mk4 discs,calipers and carriers. Are the mk4 288 discs and calipers not guna go straight on the mk3 hubs?

yeah,you would need 205/40s,my wheels come with 225/40s and theres no chance of them fitting so i need 215/35s

They are 5 stud,is yours? Im goin to be runniong 18" audi wheels but need to finish the 5 stud conversion first

What are your opinions on the above? I have a friend whos amazing at welding ally so is it feasable to make a charge cooler out of the standard intercooler? He could weld plates on either side of intercooler with pipe fittings to flow the water through the fins of standard cooler,thus keeping original pipework? Or am i stupid :oops:

deleting mirrors and side repeaters is an mot failure. rear panel joins wont crack if filled

yep thats helped loads! prob got the engine for £400 complete! Mine is cable change and i have got a new 16v clutch and lightened flywheel. I was just curious regarding gear ratios between the 2 boxes

Ive decided now to fit a g60 lump complete into my valver and have some newbie questions. 1. How much is a complete g60 engine worth with everything needed for conversion,except the charger as its mullured? 2. Can i use my 16v gearbox,clutch and lightened flywheel? 3. What do i do about fuel lines and can i use the 16v pump? 4. What am i expected to pay for a charger secondhand? 5. How do i go about bypassing charger so engine still runs without it? Thanks in advance for any help

my theory is though,if i go 16v/g60 il still need a charger plus all the other bits,where if i change to 8v i can sell all my goodies to pay for another charger. Im thinking tuning potential of a g60 is alot better than my 2l thats nearly at its limits already
