Well, we don't really know what people are paying, and very few are willing to say! A lot of work and parts have gone into this car - and the original paintwork is not a down side in my opinion, much better than a bad blow over.

Having said that, most other committed owners will have replaced much of this stuff over the years as well, but would not expect to see that back. What will be a problem is the chains and clutch, as all the buying guides will mention these, even if they don't always need to be done, and I think you will find you'll have to negotiate down over them.

Best of luck with the sale - I think the ball park is reasonable, and with a bit of patience you should do well.

Anyone would be hard pushed to find any Corrado with "lowish" miles, 2 owners, great condition and where the complete underside of the car has been replaced less than 50 miles ago (Let alone a Storm.)

I'm going to leave it advertised here only for now, i'm in no rush and would really lik eit to go to someone who appreciates it for what it is and can be...
In all likely hood you will not sell it on here so good job you're in no rush to sell it. I dare say the link of the car that was sold that the buyer did not hold on a bit longer and purchased your car, as yours really has had the full monty minus the chains and probably a better buy.

Good luck with your sale. Another market place is Car and Classic. I believe it is free to advertise.

    Hello Edd,

that's one hell of a car you have there,
plus the list of things you've done to it over the years is phenomenal.

In my opinion your Corrado is well worth the money you're asking for it,
to be honest I wouldn't accept anything under £10000
People seem to forget that the Corrado was only in production for roughly 7 years,
and the VR6 was only around for 4 out of those 7 years,
your STORM model they only ever made a few hundred and only in two colours,
this was in the last year or so of the Corrado production plus only available in the UK,
basically this makes it rare as rocking horse pooh.

So anyone asking to purchase your car for a lot less are taking the p*** in my opinion.

    I've seen a VR6 for sale with 53000 miles priced between £15000 and £18000
this was over a year ago now and it wasn't even a STORM.

    Also seen a 2.0 16v with 56000 miles selling for £8500 to £9000

MK1 VW Scirocco in mint condition can sell from £20000 upwards.

MK1 Ford Sierra Cosworth 500 I've seen sell for roughly £100000

The original style old mini before the year 2000,
in mint condition are selling for £10000 upwards.

My point is the Corrado is going to go up in value especially as there's not many left now,
and even the old barn finds that are in bad condition will go for silly money soon.

Like you say Edd if you're in now real rush to sell,
then I would 100% hang on to your Corrado.

    Si
    Had MK2 1.8 Scirocco Scarla 1998 to 2002
had it lowered on original wheels,
K&N air fitler and Janspeed exhaust system.

Now have 94 M reg Corrado 2.0 16v since 2002 still got it,
been off the road now since early 2015
hoping to get it finished this year.

Also have a 2015 Seat Ibiza TSI i-tech as my daily driver.

You mean asking for £xxxxx, what they sell for is alway a secret.

Auction prices are always indicative of value trade buyers will pay, there’s one going through Morris Leslie today

The thing to do with these cars is stock piling parts , i'm always looking for a bargain on ebay even if i dont need the part .

Ive got a hunch that the Mk2 16v golf lads are going to start nicking the 16v engines out of the Rado as people are going to try and return them back to stock.

That’s a slippery slope, once viewed as a pile of parts worth more than the sum of the total that’s when the itch to break the car begins.

Thanks Si, appreciate the comments. You are quite right the time will come where these cars are very sought after and the value will be greatly reflected. We also have a 1968 Daimler V8 250 that was purchased about 15 years ago for £6k that has just been valued at £25k with minimal restorative work undertaken in that time; admittedly, it does only have 32k miles on the clock but it is the rarity that has driven the value increase.

I have little doubt that this car will do exactly this in the not too distant future given the current condition and works I have undertaken; especially given its Storm status.

However my issue with keeping is no garage space, a lack of use in general with other cars in the household that need to be used to maintain them in good order and a promise to my wife, the last being the crux of it
