    bumpity bump for some thread ressurection!

    does anyone have any idae as to 4-pot clearance and weights on the ABT wheels - got my eye on a set as we speak....

    need the info asap, as they will probably go soon...

    Not sure on clearance but they are quality wheels and light too. I had a set on my S3 and would certainly buy again. Is it the simple plain 5 spoke ones? I like them.

    Oh and just to highlight the weight issue I fitted a set of Lenso 18in alloys to the Golf Tdi last week. Car felt a lot slower (despite almost identical RR) and they avergae MPG was down by 10!!!! The ride was terrible as well.

    as much as i like my BBS RC's they dont have that much brake clearance....so i to are on the look out for a new set of rims.

    17" ABT's are 9.6 Kg without tyres

    You mean these Karl? Are they OE or copies? That's a nice weight and I think they have reasonable caliper clearance too. Always liked them

    yeh thats them Kev, but i have sold them ageees ago i have had 5 sets of alloys since i bought those.

    oh yeh the copies weigh loads so make sure you get the OE ones.
    need another corrado in my life, much less hassle than a woman.

    16" Sport Radar - 9.4 Kg with no tyre. 18 Kg with ( well-worn ) tyre and air.

    15" Speedline - 7.7 Kg with no tyre. 15.8 Kg with ( well-worn ) tyre and air.

    Incidently - a 288mm brake disc comes in at 5.7 Kg. Just in case anyone is interested.
    Orig a '94 VR. Mods: 24V Engine (PSI Tuning). Lupo Wipers. Supersprint Ex. Powerflex r bushes. Coilovers. De-badged Grill. 288mm Fr brakes. Moonroof. 16V bonnet. Total de-rust and respray. To be done: Upgraded Loom. Addtnl rear ARB. Fr & rear bracing struts. Bilstein suspension. 17" wheels. Recaro seats. ( My other car is a Mk5 Golf GTi Ed 30 )

    BBS RS 262&263. Weigh in at a hefty 7.71107029 Kilograms or 17LBS as we non metric lovers say
    17 Inch
    Clear Girling 60 Calipers with a front et of 35 on 9" wide.
