fla 9 Posted February 7, 2005 Evenin all, I've got a digital thermometer for inside AND outside temps which I want to hardwire in. It uses a standard AAA size 1.5V battery. Any ideas where I can tap a 1.5V source eg by say stepping down the power from the cigarette lighter? If so, how's it done? I will be wiring in some blue leds so its on all the time the ignition is on. Cheers
Supercharged 2 Posted February 7, 2005 Just stick a battery box in under the dash somewhere, you'll only need to change em every 2 years or so!
fla 9 Posted February 8, 2005 Yeah, but with the leds on continously that'll drain it down in no time, hence the requirement for a separate supply.
Andy Brookes 0 Posted February 8, 2005 http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... t=resistor i'm gussing you could use this as long as you know how many amps it will be pulling
KieranD 0 Posted February 8, 2005 I was gonna say to use a step down transformer i.e 12v to 1.5v im sure Maplins would have something like that... Might help might not :)
