chrishill 0 Posted June 10, 2005 this has been bugging me for ages. See the pic below, how do you get the plastics to sit nice and flash without popping out every time you pull the handbrake? i've taken it to bits a few times, adjusted the plastic screw-cap thinys either side of the tunnel and put it all back together for it just to 'pop' out again as soon as i even look at it! Kevin Bacon 5 Posted June 10, 2005 He he.... oh how that bugged me too. It's to do with the pressure of the side retainers but I found if you remove the rear half of the tunnel (fag tray bit), you can then get your hand in there and waggle things around a bit.....and the gap in your pic has been clamped down with black screws in mine
VR6 0 Posted June 10, 2005 Is it clicked in at the bottom by the little retaining lugs? Edit: Bit slow because mine comes with pics  Some pics ... It's handy having half a corrado spare knocking round the house and shed! Sorry for the bad camera work but you get the idea.
chrishill 0 Posted June 10, 2005 I've had the arm rest bit off a couple of times and still cant get it right! I'll check the lug bits though tom, hadn't noticed those before!
VR6 0 Posted June 10, 2005 Yeah once they are in place, rather than riding over the top, the forwards pressure should mean that it sits nice and snug. Try and get some felt in there as well to stop rubbing even further (easy Kev). Spot the people that have removed and re-fitted about every single piece of trim on countless occasions! Lippy 0 Posted June 10, 2005 it is a pain in the arse, I dropped my neck chain down there - well it slid down there, taking all that crappy plastic off did my head in. Especially as you need a short ass screwdriver to get the screw out from the ash tray........nnnnngggggggghhhhh!!! all is well that ends well, chain found and also one pound better off! 2cc 0 Posted June 10, 2005 Must be the way you look at it Chris But yeah, mine was a pain till I sussed how it was held together. I take the seats out now when I need to get the console out as there really isn't enough space to get at it otherwise.
Louie Lungbubble 0 Posted June 10, 2005 Those (stupid) open ended lugs had completely snapped off on mine. Had to rebuild them using a big washer and some 2-part glue. Never found a quid in mine though, just a few McDonalds chips.
