ToyB 0 Posted October 10, 2010 I am looking for a really quality sound for my corrado, a full range, kind of as the producer heard rather than big bass etc. while keeping the car looking unmodified I was thinking of an Alpine 9887r headunit with the Infinity Kappa range 13cm speakers for the door, 10cm speakers in the dashboard to replace Tweeter? if thats what they are and, as a previous owner has cut the parcel shelf, Kappa 6x9s in there. Not knowing too much about setting an ICE system, does that sound about right? has the 9887r been updated as it seems that someplaces no longer stock it. Thanks in advance for any advice given
Abdul 0 Posted October 11, 2010 Corrado's will never have good systems imo as the most important part of your system imo is the mids, now on the corrado not only are they 5.25" but they're also mounted on the flimsy doorcard rather than on the inner doorskin etc like a mk4 golf. BUT if you're going to try to get a good set up then start off with some 6.5" door pods and a quality 2 way speaker set up, forget the infinitys, whats your budget? Personally id also be fibre glassing and deadening the doorcard to add as much strength as possible and deadening the actual door. Up to you how far you want to go and how much of the original sound you want reproduced. Mount the tweeters on the pillars imo, forget the stock locations. Oh and make sure the speakers are amped up and lose the 6x9's. As for headunits, whatever takes your fancy really but ive always been a fan of the Pioneer P88RS and am looking for another at the moment.
