Anyone first hand experiance of Audi S2 Avant??

Just wondering what their like from a performance, comfort, reliability perspective.

 

Obviously no real comparison with the VR, but be interested to know do they seem fast??

I know the book has them down at sub 6sec for the dash.

 

Might be looking into getting one. Kind've ticks a few boxes.

Not had one myself but a chap in my office had one for a while recently, bit of a problem with an engine sensor eventually sorted by a specialist but other than that it was a very nice lowish mileage car, very solid and generally a very nice motor.

I'd imagine some of the parts are a pretty horrendous price to replace and maybe becoming obselete? Never going to win any economy runs but what are they 350 bhp? - Ah yes that was an RS2, S2 is still a nice car though.

Great cars. S2 Avant offers performance and practicality. They are often looked down upon because of RS2 big brother, but this is false snobbery in my opinion. Pick the right example of this Audi and providing this is what you Want the you will not be dissapointed. We look after a number of these for our customers and all of them are well taken with their machines. Have a look on the S2 forum for more detail.

Great, thanks for that. Sounds good! I guess I'm going for the 'have your cake and eat it too' sort've thing.

Still want the zippy 'surprise the rep-mobile boys' turn of speed, but need a family type motor now.

I joined the S2 Forum just last week, great site, and some jaw dropping avants on there!
