I split the base from the mirror cap to spray them, there is a heavy duty spring that holds them together, I used the stud and nuts to compress the spring so the 2 parts could be split
GrahamU 5 Posted March 5, 2022 Once again its been a while since my last update, its not been a great start to the year with my wife spending 4 weeks in hospital with sepsis, strangely, most people seemed to think I'd of spent every night in the garage but reallity really knocks the wind out of you. But she is out now and recovering well so I took some time today to fit my keyless ignition system. I have started by fitting an RFID immobilisor that is powered when the alarm is deactivated and sends power to the MoTeC display. I have a switch wired into the MoTeC and have put a whole load of logic into the display to allow me to remove the ignition key completely and start it using the push switch instead/ Made a video of it today, not sure how Flikr is working these days so you'll probably need to click on it to see 🤷♂️ Just need to tidy all the wiring up now and put the dash back together

ABV-VR6 12 Posted March 13, 2022 Sorry to hear about your wife, that must have been a though time, I would have not been able to work on my car either in those circumstances... Keep up the good work and take care
_Matt_ 24 Posted March 14, 2022 Sorry to hear Graham but good to hear she is on the mend at home. You are a master at retro fit and customisation!
GrahamU 5 Posted March 23, 2022 (edited) This week I have been away again, Unfortunately it was OEM day on track so only a couple of Volvo's and BMW's going round which wasn't the experience I wanted 😞 Edited March 23, 2022 by GrahamU
GrahamU 5 Posted March 23, 2022 (edited) And this was the week before 🙂 And shared the plane out with these 2 Danny Ric and Lando Norris for those who are unsure 🙂 Edited March 23, 2022 by GrahamU
seanl82 23 Posted March 23, 2022 I didn't recognise Danny Ric at first but guessed as I recognised Lando. You certainly live a blessed life my friend! 👍

GrahamU 5 Posted April 16, 2022 (edited) Few finishing touches prepping for the MOT Dash assembled And a little naughty, but took it for a drive round the block to be sure it actually drove ok Will book it for an MOT this week, if all goes well with that I'll flat and polish the rest of the paint Edited April 16, 2022 by GrahamU
seanl82 23 Posted April 16, 2022 Kudos to you Graham, I'm sure it'll fly through with the work you do. Some incredible modifications and additions, and look forward to the report after a proper good drive to see how it all works and handles. 👍
GrahamU 5 Posted April 18, 2022 (edited) Thanks Sean, I hope you are right 🙂 Added a couple of other bits today, Mudflaps to the rear to go with those on the front and a small reversing camera that will be shown on the display Edited April 18, 2022 by GrahamU
Bauhaus 3 Posted April 20, 2022 That interior Looks nice with those well executed dash mods, fingers crossed for the MOT pass
GrahamU 5 Posted April 23, 2022 Still a little in shock today but yesterday it passed the MOT 😝 Couple of things that the drive to the test centre highlighted, the front suspension is a bit crashy, the rear tyres catch the arches and for some reason the oil pressure reading has gone a bit wrong but I'll get onto those
Bauhaus 3 Posted April 24, 2022 Congratulations on the MOT pass, you must be relieved that's out the way now 👍

GrahamU 5 Posted April 26, 2022 was a good feeling and has sunk in now Insured for £212 which I didnt think was too much considering all my no claims are on the other car so this is starting from scratch Not taxed yet as I am to tight to pay for a whole month when there are only a couple of days left so tax will start on 1st May when it will officially hit the road. First meet will be a CCGB Norfolk/Suffolk meet on the 8th then gonna try Beetle juiced on the 21st, will see how it runs before I venture much further 🤣
fla 8 Posted April 27, 2022 That's a really good premium. I'm totally with you on the road tax thing - i was too clever once and paid it the night before the next month so paid for a whole month for nothing... no idea what the heck i was thinking.. GrahamU 5 Posted May 3, 2022 (edited) some of you may have seen this already but here are a few pictures from the weekend changed the rear plinth for a smooth de-locked covered in carbon wrap Rear plate is held in place using magnets so can be removed for the full smooth look at shows Edited May 3, 2022 by GrahamU
