I don't want to ruin my freshly cleaned and lubed spoiler mechanism, but do like the idea of this. Especially now I know it can be done
-
Cheers for that. I keep looking at my spoiler wondering....... could I....
-
The calipers do look great. Having pictures now is so much better.
-
That is impressive. Do you know how he hid the wiring into the hatch?
-
I saw that the other week. Certainly has all of the correct plugs on to make it easier. IIRC you need to take the centre tunnel cover out aswell as the seats, due to that being the wiring route between seats
-
It plugs into the back of the fusebox with a separate fuse. All plug and play and with a permanent live. I will look later as I have pictures everywhere of this
-
As above, yes to all. The Recaro loom is a separate loom to the heating element. None of it is difficult as i did mine. If all the correct plugs are still intact, it is plug and play
-
No way. I still have nightmares after your car scared the sh** out of me

Ok, so I am jealous of you having the VDO gauges. I would happily give up my illuminated cassette storage for those. That would make my car complete, ish. Every Corrado should have left the Karmann factory with these...
-
They do look nice. I wonder if he can do the rear seats and jump to match too. That would be perfect
-
I had to look back for this one. Mine were 1k. Madness at the time and everytime I think about it. But they are great and came with the original loom. I think we are all MAD
-
It does all sound like a lot of hard work. I purchased a set of Recaro fabric seats off this forum a few years ago. Big money but in fantastic condition so worth it. I would wait for a great set to turn up. Mine were originally from Germany so the drivers seat, which was the passenger seat, had very little use. Just in keeping the Oem look I personally like. The daftest thing I have done to them is fit the genuine vw recaro seat heating elements. Not as warm as the seats in my newer Passat, but a nice touch. I do agree that a new set Recaro seats would be nice, but without the electric bases, would leave me wanting. These damned cars do take over our lives, Haha  Good luck with what route you go down

Harsh ride, but great looking wheels mate. IMO they suit the Corrado perfectly
-
It's the motor that is similar, not the blades which look like a radiator fan... Although looking on ebay there are very similar VW fan blower motors that could be adaptable.
-
VA01-A52/2C-43A is the closest looking item I can find, but would need the fan blades swapping over..
-
I have my fan out the car still. The only markings on it are A52/C2. I could happily send people pictures, but have GIVEN UP TRYING ON HERE ...

Totally stunning. Well done in what you have created

I used a gliptone leather cleaner, dye and sealer on my wheel and it came up looking great. Never thought about the gearknob. I think robrado was the latest person to send his wheel away for a full re-trim.

Welcome aboard mate. Does the spoiler work on either the switch or at speed? Passenger footwell is either a badly sealed foliage cover in the engine bay , or more likely a leaking heater matrix that involves a dash out. Best to find that one soon as it soaks into the insulation in the floor which doesnt dry out....could be linked to your loss of coolant!! Damn. Most oil leaks are easily sorted. Good luck and have a great new year with it Cressa

I've just had daves16v super door handle upgrade and had previously purchased a VW lock repair kit incorrectly,535 898 084. Anyway I thought I may as well fit this as I have it and the handles are off the car. I'd kick myself if this broke later when I already had it.. So it comes with a new spring, circlip, 2prong lock/unlock catch, a piece under that AND A NEW LOCK TUMBLER SEAL. Oh the excitement of this small white cup shaped ring. I had previously fitted an o ring here, but this seal is the real deal. I know these are obsolete but has anyone ever found a different source for this little piece of rubber? I must be xmas bored I know... And I wish we still had tapatalk for pictures.

Pictures work now mate. Very very nice
-
Definitely just a standard heater matrix if you have the Diavia aircon system. As said many times b4, get the best and redo the foam on the flaps (sounds wrong!!) I also gaffa taped all my plastic HVAC joints as it went back together, super efficient afterwards Good luck with this one
-
Great thread. I replaced my interior with cloth, Recaro.... that's the way to go. Ha ha ha ha

Exactly why I am a member of both. I hope the future is together
