  1. I've a late VR, and needed to fit the earlier spring caps with my lowering springs (H&R)and agree with Simeon. Would you be fitting new top mounts and bearings anyway?. I would definitely take off the old and have a look at it. Good luck mate
  2. I have a piece of wire wrapped around each of the releasing rods that the trumpets pull against. These hang out of the way each side of my grille and with some clever hooking, can be fished through the grille. A pull on each releases each side. Works for me and there for an emergency

    Davina air con

Not yet. I have tried lots of places and only yesterday have left it with a different supplier to see what they can do. I WILL sort this. When I get the evaporator, I will be having new pipes as they aren't a daft price. I have already replaced a couple and was only charged 25 pounds for each one

I do have one off the car in a box somewhere, so can sort next week unless someone else can help b4 then
  5. I do have a new slider part that I would happily let someone template, but it does have the cable wire attached

Keyo, anychance that you could post up pictures of this connection and where all the other parts fit. I'm curious for the future.
  8. Great read mate. Well done in getting the years ticket on it
  9. Tonedef I'll certainly give that a try, thanks
  10. 8)8)MOT.... that's just a dream. I think I got bored trying to source an evaporator for the car so bought this. Anyway I'm still shaking from the terrifying acceleration of your car :shocked!:
  11. So,as I am now the owner of a Schrick manifold with ancillaries, I've decided to strip it down. As you do!!! I was going to have a go at cutting my own gaskets, as €89 from bar-tek seems a little steep. Problem is on dismantling I've found the runner section to the upper manifold has been gasket sealed, so no template .... damn. Does anyone have any other suggestions that may help, or an old gasket (I know we never throw anything away)I could borrow to use as a template. On doing a Google search, I only seem to find bar-tek selling them. I wondered if any wise person may know of another source Thanks for your patience
  12. Great website find. Be interesting to hear if anyone has ever ordered or used this site
  13. Loving the one with a big printer that cuts it out. Amazing home gadget
  14. Be nice if it does fit. I was looking at some Rallye golfs that have a full scuttle panel cover, very nice
  15. Ok, so I have the option of purchasing one of the above. I must be mental to consider it, but after having read all too many threads, don't see a downside to the purchase in principal BUT As we all like nice shiny items, has anyone powdercoated theirs? I can't see why not as my original manifold came up great.. GASKETS... 89euros from a company called Bartek seem a lot for two gaskets that I believe are paper. Can anyone recommend anywhere or what they have done Anything I have missed or should consider? It will be a slow process and not needed on the car yet anyway, but it is good to be prepared Cheers Cressa
  16. Nice looking motor mate. Welcome to the greatest forum . Deep pockets and patience needed at times, but well worth it for the daft grin it gives you
  17. Ha ha ha, hilarious. Try facebook
  18. Ha, not my cup of tea, but I always liked the zender kits on any VW
  19. Took all my aircon hoses off the car!!! Bloody crazy thing to do but I was bored and fancied the challenge. Going to get replacements made so I can have a little more reliability.. maybe
  20. Tonedef, does your mate do full resprays? And Shaun's VR6T is ridiculously fast, other drivers will need to see if he uses the brakes. Scared the sh## out of me
  21. I'm on nights..... not good for a nice BH weekend

    ABS Sensor

Got to be the open circuit one. Buy a new one and check its resistance against the reading you have. That's the easy bit. They are a pig to get out so goodluck
  23. Push the centre pins out of the main fixings, don't lose them, then pop the fixing out
