I Was looking at the idea of removing the drain plug, then fitting something that shuts off that I can fit a pipe to, to assist in draining. Was just a thought.... if I find something I'll post it up. Obviously I still miss TAPATALK for the ease of posting pictures.

Sorry that I can't help with the sputtering issue Rob, can I ask what your coolant leak Was?
-
I'm going to be changing the above pipe and was wondering what people have done in altering the drain valve part. Has anyone achieved a drain off point like the ones on the posh metal versions. Perhaps I should have just bought a Gruvenparts item but the VW one wasn't too expensive and has lasted a very long time. I'm sure as I'm tinkering I'll be draining it a few times more. Just a Sunday thought !!

I'm sure the foam is for sale on eBay. The loom will be simple as it is only the permanent feed from above the fuse box and over the tunnel. Out of curiosity, could I ask how much the seats were? They'll look amazing when Sorted

535-121-063A found one in America at 90 pounds plus postage. Obsolete here so I will be ordering soon. If anyone wants one I can see if they have more but this is happening soon and would save you the £40 postage

55 121 101L is around as a genuine hose, but for well over a hundred pounds I couldn't justify it to myself with everything else I want for it
-
That just looks soooo nice. Well done in acquiring and fitting it. Looks great

I managed to find all oem apart from the two above, which Heritage have. The last one I am still looking for. Tps near me are very patient in putting up with my Corrado needs

Congratulations on sorting it. That is a great fix.

6k no thank you. I would find myself another engine. That is big bucks. Is that for a brand new one from VW gold plated ?? I only paid 2k for the engine on my Audi to be sorted Including the turbo. Taking the car to an engine centre definitely worked for me. The choice is yours of course. I know we all spend over the odds with our Corrado's, but with the purchase price and other bits that must surely outweigh its value. A big decision for you. ... and good luck, but I would definitely shop around with my alternatives first. Sleep easy. Sod it, if you have the money just do it:cheers:

Ha ha brilliant. I was thinking of doing the same last night, they are fantastic. Anna Feel free to put a picture up of the mk1

I don't have the balls to delete the pump as the VW masterminds put it there to keep our hot engines cool even after we switch off and walk away. You can get cheaper parts I suppose.... coincidentally I have just started collecting all the genuine pipes and hoses, damn that bill does add up against other suppliers. Good luck in what you decide

I got a the same Bosch auxillary pump off eBay last year. Was about 50 pounds and came with a can of silicone aerosol. Brand new from a seller in Germany, same place as others had recommended on here. Perfect fit too

Bigpants baby, what is happening with this, are you going to take the plunge?

Geeba we've missed your epic updates, They have always inspired me. Jim I will look into the photobucket app. Cheers. Even I lost interest in my own post when the picture didn't appear. More so now that VW Heritage have just delivered me some goodies

i just really want someone to have a look at the car and tell me whether i have bought my self a money pit .... Ha ha definitely a money pit as all Corrados are. But there can not be many cars that put a smile on your face like yours will. If you don't want it to be too much a money pit then you can roll your sleeves up and get stuck in and learn. You will get free great advice and tips on here. Try doing a search of the individual issues and read the different threads for ideas. 1+4 electrical so check the fuse box area to ensure all connectors are tight and fuses are properly seated. Check your battery terminal connections. Definitely get the stereo out to ensure it has been connected correctly and the wires are secure. A common problem is the ignition switch itself, which is fiddly to do, but cheap and would rule that issue out and be peace of mind. Unfortunately engine swapping involves wiring loom chopping and grafting so try and check any joints you can find. Wiggle them whilst the car is running and hopefully you may find a dodgy one. 2. Rear spoiler could be the control unit which is an easy swap. 5. I can't help with but assume you have the correct level of fluid in there 6+7 I thought the reverse switch would be at the gearbox and there is a helpful guide on here about setting up the cables correctly to ensure the selector is correct. In all most of your issues have been on here b4, with the solution at your fingertips Good luck in sorting it, Cressa

535 121 063A I have done a lot of searching but am unable to find this. Nothing at VW, Classic parts or Heritage. Does anyone else know somewhere for a NEW one? C'mon Anna feel free to get Heritage to remanufacture this as I've just ordered the other two from yourselves

I've got to text fuzzer, so that is a good idea to play with. Well done in putting that up Dox, cheers Cressa
