  1. Valeo one everyday. Most people get that recommended on here. Check ebay as they usually have them. You don't want to be doing this job so often Good luck Cressa Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  2. Try having someone press down on the bonnet as you pull the handle. It may be enough in releasing the tension in the lock Good luck Cressa Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  3. I use a trolley jack on the rear axle and also place my axle stand their. As for the tricky front ... I'll have to have a look as I can't remember Cressa Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  4. I'll second all of that. Toad ai606 is definitely a great Alarm that you wouldn't be disappointed with Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  5. Pull all the knackered relay out and see if the fuse stays in. Then take the defective relay to any automotive supplier as the picture on the side will be the type of relay. Nothing fancy about them, just check the pin layout is the same Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  6. Worth an email to ask. I was slightly deceived by what I ordered as I thought my springs would come black as I was trying to keep it oe looking. They came green. .. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  7. I've got the H and R springs on mine. Brought it down to a more respectable height. But these do use the earlier spring cups. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  8. You aren't missing any trim, that's how they are. There is a passat cover that fits the wiper motor and always for sale on ebay. And for a larger covering of the scuttle area people use mk2 golf ones with a little cutting. (Corrado Facebook cover that) Oem is good mate. Good luck Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  9. There is a set of 4 door cards from a late spec car on gumtree near me in Sheffield £70. Have a look Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  10. Also, I didn't look at your pictures as I opened this thread on tapatalk on my phone. .. and they don't all come through for some reason. I'll look on my pc another time Enjoy the car Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  11. Welcome aboard mate. Sounds good if you've bought one and have the money to spend in getting things done right. I would say the rear beam is what was mentioned on your mot and has been painted since. A common occurrence but they are still solid. As for the sill covers, I would gently remove them and have a proper look at what is happening under them. I recently removed mine and it took forever to get the adhesive from them. As for the underseal, do a search on here as different people have done different things. More importantly there is help and advice here. Also it is a great place for sourcing parts if needed. Good luck with your car Cressa Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  12. Hopefully a happy ending. Well done in sorting this Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

  15. The mk4 does sound a good idea though. Mine was exchange Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  16. I got myself a 120A alternator from TPSa year ago. They gave me a good deal so I was happy with the price. Worth a try maybe.. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  17. Although the cables are moving, are they actually turning any cogs on the heater box. It is common for one of the plastic cogs to break and then even if you move the lever, it doesn't move inside the heater box. You need to get upside down in your car to the box as you can move them manually. PITA of a job though !! Good luck in sorting it Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  18. Great result mate. I've fitted hidden wires, so if it goes wrong, I can hook them from behind the grille. Well done Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  19. Ditto. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

  21. Looks great. Enjoy the fix and be prepared for the lower wing rust to have gone through to the body. All repairable but disheartening. The Estorils always look good IMO . Enjoy sorting her and I hope you give her a name Cressa Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  22. I can't believe it hasn't gone at that price. Working, it is an easy straight swap and there are enough people with broken ones !! Perhaps it is due to just being after Xmas. .. GLWS, it will happen Cressa Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
