would you like a guide emailing m8? cant recall if i have offered or sent you one already
-
lol - looks about right Jim its not that bad a job though really is it think im going to take more time reassembling the valver's when i take it out again to do the flaps - tidy the wiring, install front speaker cables & solder on a new ISO connector for a stereo
-
ha ha ha very poignant Jim :)
-
lol i thought that too Fla
-
hi nick - will check PM & drop you the email today EDIT - now sent
-
ha ha ha!!! yes my friend i am afraid they will have to - better that than trying to wriggle the air box out with half the dash in, i have no clue how some people have achieved that! have you asked them to check & reline your air box flaps whilst they are in there m8? 100% worth doing if needed & maybe even replacing anyway as a preventative maintenance & checked what brand matrix they are fitting? valeo are meant to be the most reliable if it was me i would also be expressing my concerns about them being extremely gentle with all the plastics - it is very easy to accidentally break things like the air vent moving parts as they can be brittle i hope you have something planned to take your mind of it on your days off ;) lol
-
cool thanks Jim & VAG :) i will order one today EDIT - done, yay hopefully no more gurgling once fitted
-
hi nick it is not that bad a job, just fiddly & time consuming. basic tools & scraped knuckles really & yes i have a guide, with lots of pictures too lol drop me a PM with your email address & i will send it you things to note..... try to get a Valeo brand matrix prepare to have to reline the directional flaps in the airbox, sticky back felt is what people have used on here - as if you dont you will end up like me.....having to take dash out for a 2nd time as all the hot air mixes with the cold label everything as you remove it a hose clip tool makes reconnecting the hoses onto the matrix much easier if you take a look at my build thread here http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?44751-g0ldf1ng3r-s-VR6-amp-1-8-16V/page18&highlight=g0ldf1ng3r it has a write up & pics on when i did the one in the valver
-
thanks Jim i did you you had written this onpage2 "Alloy mini type - only thing I'm not sure about is the size.. can't remember if it was the 6 or 8mm version. Pretty sure it's 8mm" so wanted to confirm if possible it will be in your ebay purchase history ;)
-
FYI m8 i got my KW's direct from KW themselves
-
update on this - it wasnt a suspect jubilee but a failing aux water pump - as it sheared the end off of it & dumped coolant all over my mechanics workshop floor
-
tidy thanks Jim i will go back a page for the part but would appreciate if you could confirm the size? did the supplier put the direction arrow on it m8? you have solved why ive had gurgling behind the dash since the stealth head rebuild :D
-
have a word with Vince at Stealth - he remapped my VR after head rebuild, 263's & BMC & the map difference is awesome! :D EDIT - ive not gone to OBD2
-
hi m8 drop her a PM too as she may get a notification of it & you may get a response sooner EDIT - ha ha just as i was typing lol
-
hmmm i have a feeling the G60 hangers were different but im not 100% i did a LOT of research & phoning round about exhausts for my VR before deciding on Longlife
-
not sure about an off the shelf solution but Longlife will custom fabricate a SS on there for you i couldnt be happier with the one installed on my VR :D
-
what a very nice offer indeed!! someone relieve the man & quickly :)
-
me too - they rock ;) lol i can put up with a little bumpy for the handling they give - plus i found that once i had replaced front wishbone & rear beam bushes the ride was much more cushioned & less crashy ive done over 60K miles on mine so far, a quick jetwash with the wheels off & they look tidy still with just a little paint flaking off the springs
-
if going by dealer type prices then at least 12-15K i would say
-
i read this article yesterday & it seems quite pertinent http://www.collective-evolution.com/2017/01/31/a-simple-guide-to-stop-caring-so-much-about-what-others-think/

I agree with easypops Jim - be kind to yourself & stop being so hard on your rado body work can, & time given will be sorted. you have a lovely motor in it now too so throw away the thoughts of 'id like a modern engine in it', you have a cracking 12v VR6 that is the soul of the VR rado i think if you saw the state of my VR's body work you would be calling me crazy to spend £550 just on new front brakes!! but prioritising engine, suspension & mechanicals means i cant wait to get it back & hear the growl turn into a full on fecking roar & then actually be able to stop well lol that is despite it looking tatty & pap i too am going to go down the agreed value this year even with the paint as it is because the rest of the car, interior included, would be tough to replace like for like i have also been having an interesting conversation via pm with our new member grizzlybear. he hit a note that i had in the back of my mind about my Kamei kits - such that they are so rare barely anyone has seen them! i couldnt even find an image on google yesterday not many cars out there can hit notes like that :D

good info thanks i am thinking along the lines of your previous post, in that the buzzing is not due to a relay fault but an intermittent supply of power causing it to constantly flick the relay between on & off FYI i did try a new dash switch & that didnt fix it both my rados' seem to heal themselves with some things - EG the VR driver relay started to behave & then last week the rear screen heated function started to work on the valver....which it had never done since buying it back lol
-
good luck in your hunt, i have had a little a few times over the years but no joy the drivers side relay sometimes does the 'buzz' but it is intermittent. in fact, when i first brought the VR the drivers relay played up quite a lot but passenger was ok. i did swap the drivers & passenger ones round & found that the issue persisted. i have no clue why but it stopped buzzing one day when i tried it & so i left the dial in the max position. it kept working for a long while & only very occasionally now plays up ive not done any more investigations though but was considering checking the seat element & connections when i refurb the seats with glytone stuff i know that they guy who ran rayne automotive did sell replacement looms with relays at one point but he was a dead end when i contacted him to ask about the relays
-
nice start to your build thread m8 i am liking your borbet A's :D i think you need to put some coilovers on your shopping list ;) but make sure a good set! lol out of interest, what was found to be the issue with the sunroof & how did you fix it?

personally i like the way you cant really tell the difference when either wet or dry
