fortunately, apart from MOT, it is their 1st visit each to the mechanic this year as such hopefully still cheaper than running a newer car
-
ha ha ha i probably would if it could but supercharger rebuild costs would kill me off completely ;)
-
had another look at the valver on saturday i found 2 fuses blown. the 2nd 20amp in from the left & then the end right 10amp replaced with new & fired her up - no change, still just turning over checked fuel pump relay & could feel it clicking ok on ignition key - still no noise from underside though thus towed to mechanics - who now has both my rado's :(
-
i hoped i would find a pic of these! very nice - cant wait to see my yellow ones :D
-
you are using the wrong additive Jim apricot goes lovely with VPower! must be that extra octane ;)
-
mmmm apricot on toast :D
-
clever, very! :)
-
rotor arm & dizzy are on the list for tonight - thanks
-
thanks rob - that is another thought i had but didnt want to attempt without another bod there as cant crank & look at the same time
-
bless you thanks for the offer Jim, i will give you a nod if i need to :) fortunately my dad is around at the moment so i can borrow his car to get to work - be stuck else with both rado's poorly
-
thanks Jim & easypops - much appreciated, will check once home
-
fuel was my line of thought too Jim, thank you unfortunately i dont have a long enough socket to extract a spark plug & not sure where the fuel pump relay is i will have a look at fuses when i get home. its not immobiliser at it turns over ok. gona have to dig out the bentley.....manual rather than car though lol
-
balls - new leads fitted. they seemed to be an ok quality too. unfortunately still no joy, same event, just turning over & not trying to fire i cant hear the fuel pump when i first turn the ignition on but i cant recall how loud it was on the valver it is audible on the VR but for life of me i cant remember on the other rado guess it may have to go join the VR at the mechanics :(
-
thanks Mic - im looking forward to their shiny yellow-ness! i agree with the grooves, not nice for a daily so back to plain discs will be nice hopefully they are only a couple of weeks away
-
indeed Jim - i cant recall if i asked Vince about it at the time, something is niggling me that i did but im not sure
-
thanks Jim will keep an eye on the thread to see how you get on i wonder why Vince didnt swap the valves out of our original hoses
-
tidy be good to hear about it just checked & the gf's old storm is still listed on that traders site. it has been there for some time now, i wonder if he is getting asked about the chains after he bleated on about them not being done & then his advert doesnt say they now have been lol

i have gone for a set of Hi-Spec billet 4's with plain discs & entry level pads i was of the mindset that it would be sensible to invest in the better calipers first & then look at better disc/pad combo in the future i have also found that i dont really like grooved discs, having done nearly 30k on EBS USR discs, due to the noise & vibration pls by all means recommend on disc/pads from your experience :) though no track days etc in the VR EDIT - forgot the image for you mic lol -
GSF didnt dispath the leads yesterday due to how busy they were - fortunately the HQ is only 25 mins away so ive just popped over there to collect them fingers crossed the valver will be running again tomorrow
-
hmm methinks i need to take a look at this too Jim, would you mind letting me know where you got the after market one, place & part number if possible pls? an update with a pic when you do yours would be very much appreciated too :)

ahhhh - you know i have always wondered why the VR started to do that gurgle after id got it back from stealth from memory i think i mentioned it to vince but im not sure

result & in time too same temp here this morning as well, glad i filled up the log burner before i went to bed last night lol EDIT - on a separate note Mic, not sure if you have seen but ive ordered the VR some 4 pots (not AP though) -
i have heard of that before Jim - i wonder if stealth did it when they fitted my hoses during head refurb
-
ha ha ha!!! errr that would be a no - though i am sure with some simple wiring it would be very easy to extend the cables so as to put the charger itself on the outside of the garage, its only 2 wires

tidy keep an eye on the clip for the inlet on the aux water pump, mine came loose ;)
