trickle charge wont help if it is that dead Gus - you would need a proper charging unit i would have thought as for stater motor - open bonnet, stand in centre, look down between the fans & the inlet manifold, to the right hand side you will see the thermostat housing (where all your hoses go in & out), the SM is a 6 inch ish long cylinder just below & towards the front of the car a long crowbar (or similar) & a hammer will be needed FYI when mine weNt in the VR a tap worked once but then i had to bump start it actually - if your alternator is ok you could bump start it & then go for a long drive to get charge back into the battery - obviously try not to use many electrics during the drive that would at least allow you to rule either the battery or SM out

likely to be a rayne automotive at that price mixed opinions on here about them as quite a few reported problems & they are only 2 relay version - normally that implies 1 relay for sidelights/dipped beam & 1 for main beam, which in turn means nothing other than main beam if the side/dipped beam relay fails :( unless you keep a spare in the glove box ;)

how did you get on with the battery?

that would really depend on how much you want rebuilt have a read of my build thread http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?44751-g0ldf1ng3r-s-VR6-amp-1-8-16V/page2 for what i had done & then hopefully a forum member can expand on the bottom end side of things too vince is always silly busy but best thing will definitely be a good chat with him about your issues & potential solutions -

true Dox & Vince also makes sure the customer is happy i had quite a torrid time when my VR went there due to the poor workmanship of a young lad he had there - who then wasnt there on my final collection day if it wasnt for Vince's tenacity to want happy customers my experience would have been very different. Vince put every effort into making sure the end result was 100% right - even sending my hand polished inlet manifold to a local bodyshop as it had been scratched & installing the lower door trim plastic out of his own rado cause mine had been scratched as well -
he doesnt tend to be on the forum very much stu try sending him a PM & if that doesnt work i can drop him a message to his hotmail for you

good advice swiftkid but you need very BIG brakes & really a whole hell of strengthening in the gearbox, as i am sure poor VAGhag would confirm :( not to mention lots of other things; good suspension, big wheels to fit big brakes, LSD the list goes on personally, i think the 12v VR6 is a main feature of our rado's & should not be removed - plus the sound of it is just bloody awesome as we all know. i was, & am still, very happy with the increased performance & the way it delivers after Vince & Co breathed on it -
i agree with Dox - a dying / dead battery can cause all sorts of issues IIRC dash lights etc will come on if it has a little charge but then nothing will happen if it has low juice i put a solar trickle charger on whichever rado i am not using that day to try & stop the batteries depleting you can bump start a VR but they are heavy to push & will run rough for a short run until you can switch it off & then re-start it (sometimes the fuel mapping goes a bit odd) i think, but not sure as it was the gf's storm which did it, but if the fuse is blown for the immobiliser you would also get the symptoms you describe personally, i would say that 90% of issues people get with rado's are due to lack of use - they dont like being sat doing nothing & then throw their toys ouit perfectly timed example being my VR playing up last week as i hadnt used her for maybe 5 days and i had forgotten to put the trickle charger on - which resulted in a very rough 1st start with revs almost dropping to zero & then barely ticking over. i had to give it some throttle to get it going on the 2nd start (which i never do as according to the manual). then the journey to & from work had my rev's sometimes jumping all over the place when it was trying to settle to tick over 3 days of constant use & all was peachy again get the battery sorted & then go from there m8 :)

some of you may have read that my oil pressure alarm is being temperamental on the valver but im hoping that it behaves after a proper clean of the connectors as ive only had a single little beep out of it yesterday (after a quick wipe of them with a tissue the day prior) the VR decided she would have a moan at me this morning as ive not used her for a couple of weeks - been using the valver in the warmer weather think i should have put the solar trickle charger on her but i neglected it & was put in my place by her earlier lol though i didnt get a battery light come on so possibly not related to charge wasnt she rough indeed on 1st start!! ewwww & struggling to get to get its rev's up too :( i dont like to give it any throttle when i first start it, as the manual states not to, but gave a small press & grumble it did switched her off, then she just turned over on the next try - oh balls! tried again but gave a blip of throttle & she fired up, rev'd her up to about 2K ish for a brief moment & then she behaved & all was back to normal let her warm up on the drive for a few minutes & then had a nice drive to work with no issues gave her a few pokey runs up through the gears to check all felt ok & reveled in the awesome sounds she makes with the BMC & SS - blimey ive missed hearing her growl turning into a roar!!! :D ive said it before & will say it countless times again, they really do not like not being driven regularly these beasts

are early & late glasses the same? if they are i may have one
-
odd - though my mechanic always says its impossible to replicate rain lol maybe it was a difference in wind direction have you tried giving it a good soaking with a hose? though id refer you to the above sentence too lol

how about side to side lean? was the car parked in exactly the same position as when it leaked? i know for example that sometimes the passenger side has a little water ingress if it is on a slight slope with the offside lower than nearside but if it is parked flat there is no issue at all

the V2's are adjustable in ride too ;) there are quite a few on here with KW i believe i think often people are put off by the cost but suspension is key to good handling & IMO should not be skimped on - not saying that bilstein is skimping though
