g0ldf1ng3r replied to Jim's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
sorry Jim i misread that is kind of what i guessed about closing date but thought best to ask both the VR & valver are in one piece (well two but separately lol) & have mot currently :) reason for me being unsure is that the case might be different by November i willkeep an eye out & see what goes on -

NEC Classic Car Show 11-13 November 2016
g0ldf1ng3r replied to Jim's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Hi Jim is there any closing date for the 2 above spots? am i right that for the practical classics stand the cars can be in 'some' state of restoration point? rather than all show n shine i am entirely unsure at this moment where things may be at by the time of the show but it is only down the road from me & it could be possible to leave one of the rado's there for the weekend - however i am not sure which nor what state they would be -
i have a similar but with view to relining the box having changed a matrix i am thinking it could be tough to do with the box in situ & as such really needs dash out so as can fully remove heater box i have read of some people getting the box out with the dash in but im not sure what magic they used to wriggle it out of there
-
do you have a bentley manual? i think they have a diagram in there but im at work so cant check could try googling....as this came up http://media.corrado-club.ca/images/vr6_corrado-1/EKTA-StereoWiring.gif though it is canadian linky

tidy - couldnt tell from the original pic lol
-
fingers crossed for the rad then err not sure sorry but have you supported the engine with a jack when you took the bumper off? as 2 bolts for the bumper go through engine mountings i believe
-
tidy!! i am slightly over that period but with a slight gap in between lol
-
cool - glad you are ok having been through a rad change myself i would say it is probably wise to put a new one in when the front end is off
-
winner Wendy! i love driving mine every day - however deciding which one to take is not always as easy :D
-
that is a good point made Jim my only ting against it would be that the majority of cars you see broken down at the side of the road are 'new' ;) LOL
-
ahhh poop - sorry to hear & see this are you & any passengers ok though? have you been able to tell if the impact has twisted any chassis rails? wonder if you can get away with new bumper, slam panel & headlights maybe
-
that rack is a bargain!!!! someone grab it quick!!

i must say i agree with you on those points Mark i still feel like i dont want to drive anything other than a corrado due to the way it feels & makes me feel - it would take a serious amount of car to prise me out & away from mine daily i do like the recent rise in prices, i just wish it wasnt being driven by greedy traders & the bigger monies were going to the actual people who have cared & cherished for them on an alternative note & to reference back to the so called high costs of running a rado - i heard a new ford ad on the radio last night £199 per month for a focus titanium basic model & usual T's&C's with a annual mileage allowance of half what the average is & clearly states at the end 'you do not own the car' feck me nearly £2.5K a year just to drive a basic focus - that is a lot of servicing & parts for the rado & you own an appreciating car!!! kinda puts things into perspective methinks ;)
-
that didnt take them long did it! fecking traders!! i wonder if the OP is happy or not to see it at nearly double what they sold it for within a very short period!? oh well at least it means i had better revise the intended agreed value on the VR next year after its paint is done, at this rate i will be able to add at least another £5k on from the figure i had in mind lol
-
good info Kev surprised you didnt chip in your experience on the ccgb/forum show thread m8? ;)
-
damn it! - i copied my rado pics folder OFF my work PC the other day & havent got my memory stick, typical lol tomorrow :)

it needs to be seen joe as others have said, get it advertised in as many places as possible & all with a disclaimer that it is advertised elsewhere & can be removed at any time one big learn from recent times would be to make sure it does NOT get sold to a trader ;) -

ooo a tape cassette holder! rare they be! i have one in the valver :) -
thanks m8 - proper pleased & thankful for the change to cloth interior it has when we have hot days at the moment though the adverse of that is my need to re-line the heater box felt in time for winter - which kinda means dash out again :(

indeed Wendy & a good point made. i saw a god damn vauxhall nova sell for £14K the other week - £14K for a fricking Nova!! on those lines my old 1.4SR would currently be more than my VR even though they were made in much much greater numbers personally, i think on this forum we dont mind & often support the higher prices when being sold by genuine owners - in that i mean it is not a trader trying to make a quick buck after they have driven down the price they paid form the seller. however that is their business but, again personally, i would never agree with selling to a trader again i think the moaning about running costs for our rado's also drives a lot of negativity, all of which is unnecessary. when you do the math & compare total costs to run either lease or pay for a 'new' car for a year the outlay is phenomenal & often you dont even own the car - never mind the depreciation! my valver for example costs me £30 per month to OWN, tax & insure. it has just passed it MOT with no issues & had a service - lets say £250 with the donor headlights i had to buy for the adjusters. so, apart from fuel & consumables like tires i have an annual outlay of £280 & it is currently going UP in value i know that would barely even cover 1 months installment(rental lol) of a 'new' car
