Campaign 0 Posted June 6, 2003 The "Polo" was originally designed to be an Audi, with VW doing a de-chromed version, less luxurious as I understand it. Most of the development work was done by Audi funnily enough, with VW sticking their badge on it right at the end. VW took control of Audi from Mercedes in the late 60s, and brought out the original 100s and 80s around then. (I've just been reading The VW Story). They were (mostly) released on the continent, don't think it was ever listed on UK Audi sales. But after a while Audi decided to drop the project as being a bit too downmarket for them. Fine wine, Belgian chocs. 1 Posted June 10, 2003 I've got a VW Derby. It is exactly the same but with a MASSIVE boot nailed to the back end. GTI Lhasa green, silver GTI twin stripes and some Mk1 10 spoke alloys. Cooler than me VR6? :?
