biggrim 0 Posted June 10, 2003 Just bought it but won't be able to listen to it till i get home though :x What is the story with the shite cd cover thing with the cd slotted into the bit in the middle? Surely thats is gonna damage the cd over time? Maybe thats the Metallica tactic so you bugger it up and buy another copy and make them more money!! Gonna go a ride in the beast tonight and have a listen 8)

stormseeker 0 Posted June 10, 2003 He he! i thought a C90 was a honda moped.....well thats what the old boy across the road drives  Only joking ,just thought you would have stuck it onto disc by now and worn that out as well :D Well, I feel like now I must confess to just buying "Doot-Doot" by Freur on CD. It was originally released in 1983 and although they were a bunch of arty-farty-long-haired-new-romantic types, two of them eventually formed Underworld so they can't have been that bad.... Anyway, Doot-Doot the album is an absolute work of Genius! Still sounds good today!
markTTC 0 Posted June 11, 2003 Hey I've got that Freur album too - on good old vinyl. The shot of the band on the back cover always makes me chuckle - a classic example of 80's fashion looking ridiculous now (welding goggles, PVC jumpsuits, and BIG hair!). Cheers Mark

Cheers Mark My original was on cassette - hasn't lasted well!!! But it did have two remixes (or "Dun Diffrunt" as they called it, in that crazy style  ) which the CD dosen't have :(

dubster82 0 Posted June 16, 2003 biggrim,Joe M, and Henny, Yeah, Metallica decided to send an E-mail tot he club members and tel them it was out a week early! As soon as i got it, i whacked it on, and..... Wasn't that impressed. I mean C'mon, James shouting that he had a drink problem? The sacrilige of having Kirk Hammet in your band and not having 1!!! SOLO!!!! TRYING to keep up with the younger bands when really, they dont have anyone to compete with. They are the best! :D I do have 'Frantic' in my head all the time tho so it cant be that bad!!! Aint watched the DVD yet though and apparently it makes a difference to how you perceive the album. Personally though, i think ill swap the DVD and The CD, to stop any damage. a bit daft i thought :? Very Jealus tho biggrim, that your going. Did Fancy it big time!. Never seen them live, My Bro wouldnt take me to Milton Keyes last time  Although, somehow i knew they were playing Download... i wonder how i knew, cause it was supposed to be a secret...... :? Never mind. I got mine for £8.99 delivered to my door!!!!!
biggrim 0 Posted June 16, 2003 I'm not too impressed either. The DVD is better than the CD!!!! I'm with you on the lack of solo action in it as well, that is a 'tallica trademark. Sounds under-produced and raw (what is with the pants snare sound Lars has got?) and it seems as though they are kinda going back to 'KILL 'EM ALL' style playing.... double kick snare, double kick snare BUT NO GUITAR SOLOS!!!
Joe M 0 Posted June 17, 2003 I know I said it was good at the time, but its that good I only listened to it about 3 times and cant even remember most of it know.
