Recommended Posts

hi all.

any advice as to why my elec mirrors dont work ??????

when i got the car they didnt work and i assumed it must be the switch (later style) which i changed, but still they dont work. when i press the dial to move then, a clunking noise is apparent on both sides. ant thoughts?

what it has the late stle switch in door handle as i had problems with mine when brought it first make sure you have power up to the switch then make sure you get 12v out of the switch when pushing in a direction if you do make sure you have power at mirror then if you do then its your mirrors but i would say it maybe your switch but if you need some mirrors i have a set hope this helps

Andi did you get a resolution to this?

I have the same problem on my mams vr6, I can hear a clunk when I operate the switches and nothing else?

I am sure i can work it out but any information will be helpful ;-)

Apparently (like so much on the Corrado) the contacts for the electric mirror switches corrade and and the electric 'clunk' and not much else happening is usually a symptom of this.

Best thing to do if you have the time is open up the door card, and remove the leccy mirror control switch, open it up and clean it as much as you can.. it should be reasonably corroded and a good clean out should do it the power of good.
