steering wheel removal

Recommended Posts

first of the 'sorry, its not a corrado' posts from me :) I'll try and keep them to a minimum, just I know you lot will know this. I'm going to put my momo s/wheel on the mk3, but its got an airbag, I dont fancy it going off in my face really so does anyone know how to deactivate it and safely remove it? ta!

Think you need to VAG-COM it to get it to turn the airbag light out after removal too... or just pull the clocks out and remove the bulb

If its just the one air bag do as Phil K said and remove the Bulb,Vag Com wont be able to disable bulb because it recognizes the air bag is not there so a fault code will appear.

If it has more than one air bag then a resister is needed to fool the Airbag ECU to think there is one still there. So then the light will work normally and the other airbags will function to.
