joebloggsVR69 0 Posted February 8, 2006 VW will charge you about £270... :shocked!: I did buy a brand new one for my sister's 16v Golf from a shop on Fleabay. Only cost £40! That was a couple of years back. Just tried looking for the company, and their website appears to have disappeared :| Used to be http://www.lowtension.com
Trig 0 Posted February 8, 2006 I'll have one in a few weeks if you're still stuck then...

davidwort 0 Posted February 8, 2006 hi all, ive been told i need a new idle stablization valve, just wondering where to get one from and how much it should cost. cheers 1991 g60 If you want to check whether that's really the problem, I work in Milton Keynes and I've got a second hand one from an audi that I used on my 16v to check my original was OK, it worked perfectly as did my original 1.8 16v one even though the part number is slightly different. My 16v original one is exactly the same part number as the G60 so it will probably work fine for you. You can use it just to check if you've got a problem or you can have it for a few quid if yours can't be cleaned and it works for you OK, up 2 U. David. mgbv8mike 0 Posted February 8, 2006 I would recommend a good cleanout, my Golf Gti used to suffer from it....(fast idle regularly), and my VR6 had the opposite symptoms (stall when warm) until this weekend......it took 3 good flushes with carb. cleaner ( plus a flush of the silencer box) and a squirt of machine oil,to cure it...now it's running like a dream.....worth a try rather than spending loads !
