Retrimming cloth doorcards in leather

Quick question for those who might know - if the likes of MJ retrim cloth doorcards in leather, do they remove the original glued-on covering, or just retrim over the top of it?

it come off in 15 to 20 mins with heat :lol:

the black part is like rubber!! it will come off with heat ,but i dont see why you couldn't trim over it ,are you having a go yourself ?
