veeDuB_Rado 0 Posted June 29, 2006 Hey all, I've tried buffing up my rubber strips (Roof and doors) but they seem to "grey" very quickly now, does anywhere still do them new? Thanksy
veeDuB_Rado 0 Posted June 29, 2006 Thanks dude! :D
Supercharged 2 Posted June 29, 2006 GPC were doing these for £62 for both sides at Inters...
veeDuB_Rado 0 Posted June 29, 2006 Is that a good price? :?
markp 0 Posted June 29, 2006 It's still not exactly cheap for a bit of rubber, but compared to VW prices (£45 a side) its a bargain!!
veeDuB_Rado 0 Posted June 29, 2006 Ahh right :) Thanks Might get me arse down to more shows!
vr6storm 0 Posted June 29, 2006 the GPC price was VAT free too as i think VW want £45+VAT per side......tho obviously if you buy them from GPC other than at a show its also +VAT
oxfordpaul 0 Posted June 29, 2006 I bought one from GPC at Inters and the other side from the dealers. The GPC one doesn't fit properly...the thin lip that ends up going flaky is to narrow and wouldn't sit over the gap so I just had to push it in most of the way along. Maybe it's just a bad one as i think they're original VAG?
Henny 0 Posted June 29, 2006 yup, the GPC ones are genuine... That's what I've fitted to both my Cs... 8)
Lippy 0 Posted June 30, 2006 the thicker rubber bits are fine on mine, its just the spongey bit on the inside which is looking a bit rubbish. Can you buy this seperately or a they all kinda "as one"?
Henny 0 Posted June 30, 2006 it's all as one mate... On J-DUB I cut the edge off and it looked fine, but I decided to change 'em anyway as I got 'em for a stonkingly good price... ;)
Trig 0 Posted June 30, 2006 Cut the edges off on mine as well. Looks weird for about 2 minutes then you don't notice and it just looks a lot cleaner.
Guest Posted June 30, 2006 I didn't want to cut the rubber on mine (its perished) as I thought it would look wack, but Jay has done his, and I didn't even notice they weren't complete, so thats what i'm gonna be with mine I think.
NottsCounty 0 Posted June 30, 2006 I've cut mine off - just give it a good clean afterwards and it looks so much neater.
Stan 24v 0 Posted June 30, 2006 Cut mine off too, bit of a pattern here me thinks ;)
dr_mat 0 Posted June 30, 2006 I think they're obsolete from VW UK, too, so maybe GPC can still get 'em in Germany, but .. don't all rush at once, eh...?
