Any ideas on price for a new or recon one?

 

Also, how tough to fit?

GSF sell 'em for around 60 to 80 quid.

 

it's held in with two bolts, but needs the engine supporting on a jack as the two bolts also hold the front engine mount on...

 

Disconnect the battery.

 

Disconnect the thin wire from the starter

 

Undo the 13mm nut and remove the other wires from the starter.

 

Support the engine on a jack so that the jack just starts to lift the engine

 

Undo the 2 big (17mm IIRC) bolts which hold the starter motor on

 

Remove the starter motor

 

Refitting is the reversal of the above... 8)

 

Should take about 30 minutes if things come undone OK, if not expect a good hour! :lol:
