146 Jockey 0 Posted October 24, 2003 Always thought if I didn't buy my C I would have bought an S2. How do these compare to the C? Were they popular? Baz (may be move this to General )

dan 0 Posted October 24, 2003 I was in a similar situation myself. I'd say the S2 is probably a better car i.e. biuld quality, more BHP, more torque, 4WD etc. ...but it also looks a bit dated!
andycowuk 0 Posted October 24, 2003 If money was no object, I wood tke an S1 over a C. The s2 is a bit more boring to look at. The s1 is the god of the eighties, if you accept it as that then it is one of the best cars to look at in the world. ......and that noise....... or would you rather 2p cash?? JT 0 Posted October 24, 2003 i had a go in a chipped s2 just over 300bhp and it was quick but they do look dated and there also a big car to start throwing around, also ugly rear end in my opinion. just my 2p worth........
dazzyvr6 0 Posted October 24, 2003 if i were to buy any audi it would have to be the ur quattro  :D

andycowuk 0 Posted October 24, 2003 like yer style m8  ......though wondered what you meant by S1???????.....take it you meant the ur-quattro  The S1 is the rally car your ur quattro was based on!!! Suppose, if money was a slight object the UR quattro would do  . My mate has a g plate 10v 2.1 coupe even it sounds sweet. One of the highlights for me this summer was the sound of the dubwieser mk1 with the 20vt engine (not that 4 cylinder thing.....the proper one!!) at inters. spuduk_99 0 Posted October 26, 2003 i wonder how the s2 compares to the likes of the scooby, evo and escort cossie, 'cause it's a similar type of car. (mid capacity, turbo'd, 4wd etc)
vr6storm 0 Posted October 27, 2003 i wonder how the s2 compares to the likes of the scooby, evo and escort cossie, 'cause it's a similar type of car. (mid capacity, turbo'd, 4wd etc) i know when the S2 first came out.....they compared it back to back with the ur-quattro......and found the S2 to be quite softer and not as good to drive as the "out-going" ur-quattro
andycowuk 0 Posted October 27, 2003 have you seen the top gear clip of the quattro-sport vs the evo 5?
vr6storm 0 Posted October 27, 2003 have you seen the top gear clip of the quattro-sport vs the evo 5? too right.......still got it on tape i think.........i'd have the ur-quattro over any jap 4wd performance motor........tho must admit i do really like the skyline!
dan 0 Posted October 27, 2003 My brother has a ur-quattro sitting at the side of our house. His insurance quote was over £4000, so he had to park it... that was three years ago now! It is Tornado red & went pink after about two years, he then got it professionally polished & brought it back to perfect condition... that was a year ago & its turning pink again. He's had several cars since but, has no intention of selling the quattro. I think its an awefull waste but I'm fed up telling him.
