intermittent starting

Recommended Posts

Hi anyone fitted one of the intank fuel pump and sender units?

Think I've isolated the problem down to this? but would welcome any info that others may have experienced. Don't also hear the fuel pump kick in on the ignition.

Welcome to the forum!

What car are we talking about? - Do you here the pump prime?

On the VR6 the ECU waits for a signal from the crank sensor before activating the fuel pump....

Hi,

It's the 2 L 8valve '95 M plate.

Don't always here the pump priming and this is when the car won't start.

Didn't know about the crank sensor so thanks for that, where is this located?

Cheers,

Simon

Yeah worth getting the ignition switch - it's now a polo 6N part and you need to get it from the dealer - about £18 ( a knowb weak point on Corrado's so worth changing)

You can try it just by plugging in and turning with a screwdriver to test...
