I've notice that my oil pressure light has decided to come on, but this only happens when the engine is warm/hot and only at idle below 1000 rpm. This has only started doing this since I change the oil and filter at the weekend. Could the oil pump be on it's way out as I'm guessing that when the oil is getting warm and thinner and the oil is not viscus enough for the pump to pump it round the engine? Henny 0 Posted June 8, 2007 have you checked your oil level since you changed it? It's possible that you've not put enough oil back in... check the orange (or red) top of the dipstick tube isn't broken as this will cause you to get incorrect oil level readings when using the dipstick as it will sit too low in the sump showing more oil is present that it actually is... :?
