Slimg60 0 Posted June 28, 2007 How difficult would this be? I know the heater controls are different but is any thing else? Or would I be better off getting a black early dash for mine?
mrbeige 0 Posted June 28, 2007 I've done this on mine, the early switch gear are a little narrower than the late, but do fit, albiet a bit wibbly. Heater controls are different yes, and also the cubby hole at the bottom of the centre console is deeper, so you need the bracket that hold the bottom of the dash in place from the late donor vehicle too. davidwort 0 Posted June 29, 2007 Some of the very subtle changes in the later dash are OK, but you'd be replacing a reliable heater control mechansim for one with a reputation for breaking! One of the magazine articles I've got kicking around from the mid 90's compared the late Corrado dash look and feel to that of the Skoda Felicia :)
Yandards 0 Posted June 29, 2007 Not keen on the later dash, it does just feel 'crappy' compared to the early one. Heater controls are just plain rubbish, the switchgear is not as positive as the early stuff either. Must admit to slightly prefering the look of the late indicator/wiper stalks but again the switch gear is not as good. Late light switch is about twice the price of an early one and breaks more often too!!
Walesy 0 Posted June 29, 2007 The indicator stalks are worth doing IMO, they make the car look and feel a bit newer.
Slimg60 0 Posted June 29, 2007 think I'll give it a miss then and try get hold of an early black one. Cheers for the replys everyone.
