throttle bodies 2.8 or 2.9 are they the same ???

is there any differance between the 2.8 one and the 2.9 one and the benefits of port and polish and some sort of butterfly modification will the 2.8 1 go on a 2.9 and make a differance please help

i think the only difference between 2.8 and 2.9 is the 2.8 has a ramp in the inlet tract tat restricts airflow on small butterfly openings, this can be ported out.

 

I may be wrong though

Flusted is spot on..... they are the same bore.

 

The 2.9 throttle has a 2 stage opening mechanism to mimic the 2.8's ramp. The restriction makes the engine less snatchy pulling away....a granny device in otherwords.

 

Personally I prefer the 2.8 throttle. It has a lighter spring and is more reliable.
